About to use calcium hypochlorite or H2O2.
My plants have been suffered root rot, because my hydroguard is expired I guess.
And I think I will switch to calcium hypochlorite or H2O2 to cure root rot.

So, how could I lower PH with calcium hypochlorite and H2O2?
I guess I read some threads sulfuric acid react with calcium chlorite. (I'm using it which is from API now)(fix me if I'm wrong)
And my PH up contains sodium carbonate.
Can I use it with calcium hypochlorite or H2O2?

To make it simple

Calcium hypochlorite × sulfuric acid
Hydrogen peroxide × sulfuric acid
Calcium hypochlorite × sodium carbonate
Hydrogen peroxide × sodium carbonate

Are these safe?
If not, what can I use to adjust PH in DWC?


I will be greatful for any insights seniors!

It's a matter of concentration. Adding a drop of acid to a buffered solution of bleach doesn't do much. Adding the concentrated reagents is ill advised.

H2O2 decomposes anyways. Quicker at high pH (> 9).

So, Will it be ok if I put some milliliters of Sulfuric acid(like 1~4ml) to 4ppm of Calcium hypochlorite(3gal)?

We are talking about nutrient solutions right? And your sulfuric acid is diluted (concentrated sulfuric acid is a think liquid that chars paper towels)?
Then that is okay because the pH is not particularly low. The different salts in the nutrient buffer against changes in pH. If you add acid or base the pH changes little. If the pH gets below 4 or something chlorine starts to be generated. But even if all 4 ppm of bleach would be converted into chlorine gas the air would be mildly irritating but not hazardous.
