Hermies, do you always trash them?

I usually grow from feminized seeds and usually after ~40 days of 12/12 i see a plant or two with seed pods. I inspect my plants from time to time, though not daily and not each internode (that would be really tiresome), but usually i never see the male characteristics, i guess its because it's maybe just 2-3 "bananas" that are hidden well, covered up completely by the buds.

I have a plant right now where i can't see any "bananas" but it does have a few seed pods, do you usually trash these? It's looking great other than the maybe 5 or so pods. I'm thinking it has probably already spread its pollen so i can just as well let it be.

'Tiresome' as it is, daily checks are part of the game. I spend a few hours per day on inspections. It is either that or go out and pay for the quality I want. So a herm flower hardly ever has the time to open over here...
With what you describe, I am willing to bet you will find small male flowers tucked BEHIND the seeded bud, up against the stem. These hidden flowers are usually responsible for minor seeding like you describe, and the odds of you finding them are super slim anyhow.
I wouldn't trash an entire plant because of a few seeds. At the very worst it will make decent source material for oil. If you have more plants in there that you feel are at risk, then it is a good idea considering removal of the lady boy, but if this is your only plant, ride it out, not much choice...

Well i would remove them from the females u have... unless u need more seeds. the only thing u can maybe make out of the hermi is hash or oil i think. otherwise i only leave them when i need more seeds

Mad Hamish: You're probably right, i'm lazy. Actually this grow i only have 12 plants so this time i think i could have inspected them more often, but i bet i would have missed it anyways, so hard to see these tiny things..

Nutes and Nugs: why? i know they're seed pods from many years of experience, so i'm 100% sure i'm right.

The question is, do they continue to grow male parts and pollinate? or does that usually just happens once and they're "fine" after that? Im guessing they continue to grow them.

I've smoked hermies, friends has smoked them, they're perfectly fine, i always get very good "reviews", so to speak. The only bad part is the seeds which people doesnt like for obvious reason (makes the grass heavier)... would be nice to for once to not have plants with seeds.. I guess i should take it out.

Best way is to avoid fems and get your cloning game up. A good mommy is worth gold. Clones are very quick too so once the mums are there you get a lot of herb really quickly. And when looking at a type of seeds, research it relentlessly until you are certain it is stable, even reg seeds are no guarantee these days...

I had a bit of a ding dong with greenhouse seeds other day about femanised seeds, the self named KING OF CANNABIS what a fucking joke forgive my french but how can someone who gets a max of 3/6 oz dry on his grows on you tube the hd ones be king of cannabis,i do not care what greenhouse say,the femanised seeds they do still have male traits they recon they don't.stick to regular seeds dude far better plus ya can save the mother and it will cope with stress far better than femanised seeds

I will b 100% honest here.

As much as I like to burn a breeders ass for herms I have only ever had 2 plants lifetime show any herm and 1 was for sure grower error when my timer malfunctioned for a week..Plucked those off and never saw another.

and currently I have a BCBD GSC that had 2-3 funny looking calyx/or balls down low that I plucked just to b safe. I am just super paranoid about any gsc s1 so anything abnormal even a slightly mishapen calyx is subject to pluck.

So to the OP. from what I gather down low balls are usually environment related where as full blown herms are from the top down-by all means guys correct the shit outta me if I am mis speaking- Just pluck and see and possibly the clones will not show the trait.

If I saw full on intersex traits then I would chop.

as it is just the stray ball or two and is on a polyhybrid I would pluck and watch. Now something beyond F1 and that shit happens well then I will get my panties in a bunch(long as it isnt my fault)

Mad Hamish: yes i've started taking clones for this grow. I have one strain this time that isnt feminized (ICE) so i think i'll use one of those clones as a mother.

Urban: heh, just recieved GSC myself, but from Californa Connection. I've heard some bad things about them though..

Looked at the plants again, and there's a seed pod on one of the other plants too, same strain (Domina from CBD seeds), all others are fine so far.
