Hermi -- keep em or not?

Well I definetely have 2 hermies (or so i think)
One is a suposed feminized gigabud
The other a northern light.

What is odd on both
They both have female preflowers, I can see the little pistols in more then a few places.

They both also have grape bundles, the easeiest way to describe them.

Now here is my dilema.
The smoke is for me only.
Does having seeds really affect the strenght of the bud?

I am willing to cut them down but its been a while since i had a male plant or grown in general. (a year) and i am not 100 % sure it is a hermi --- ok I know it is and am tryign to convince myself its not...

Do female plants ever have a bunch of balls like in a grape, banana type cluster, they are not hangign down liek bananas.

I have another Black Widow plant that is def female and has no hanging clusters jsut buds.

I know its prob a hermi -- anyone think different by seeing my desciption?

would you keep it or chop it? (or put it outdoors and forget forgeta bout it...

yes it does sorry to say. Female grow buds that grow and grow and grow until male polinates them. If they get pollinated they stop growing early. If they dont get pollinated they reach their optimal size.

I've also noticed it seems like a lot of energy is wasted going into making the seeds instead of making the trichomes.

i say dont kill the plant just keep it for seeds for next year or next time you feel like growing

tough choice, you can keep it for seeds but ultimately they will more likely than not produce hermie plants. if it was late on in veg you could try n just clip them off and keep looking for them throughout the flower but thats hassle. if you have a deffo female id probably cut my losses and get shot, depends how many weeks on are you ? if you decide to get rid then you need to do it fairly quick before the balls start to open.

tough choice

I smoked some great weed with seeds I had to pick out. Probably 4th best out of 6 years of smoking. It may affect potency, but if it still gets you high... its weed :)

I would keep it, cut the ball clusters off or something it may work. Stun the plant a little maybe, but atleast you wont end up with a cola of seeds, youd probably end up with a cola with only a few seeds.

The only drawback to keeping the hermie..... You may pollinate your others Fems. If you keep hermies, just grow them seperate from the other plants. You dont want a gust of wind pollinating your female that is 3 feet away from the male. Ive read of them pollinating indoors other plants across the house (pollen on hands, or tools used on other plants) Just be careful :)

ive flowered out hermies that were chronic, lots of useless seeds, and pollen in your bud, but it can be very good. Pick the sacs to minimize pollen, there will be seeds and it wont be potent like sensimilla, but for personal use, it beats waiting a few more months for more bud

So glad this thread exists. off my first grow I have a hermie and a female left. Only 12 days into flowering...I've been having the chop or not chop talk w/myself for a bit. I mean what if I am wrong about it being a hermie? I absolutely see white hairs...bunches of them. BUT...I also see one node where there is a ball-like preflower on either side of the stem. I also see bulbous swelling at a few of the lower nodes where the branch meets the stalk. I clipped off/destroyed the 2 male looking preflowers yesterday...but am I really accomplishing anything by doing that?

I have 5 ak48 in seedling stage...so this first (bagseed) grow isn't all I will grow for the year or anything...maybe I should just be safe and kill the suspected hermie...let the obvious female finish?

if you keep them with the others, they will pollinate all of your flowering plants, and all the seeds will be garbage. Once a plant is pollinated it stops producing thc. So if you dont care about any of that, than keep them, if you want sensimilla take the hit and chop em down

no way to cut these off lol, they are clusters of balls with a female hair here and thier coming out --

lieki said soem clusters of grapes
they are 2 weeks into flowering and some of the clusters are about a 1/2 inch total with many little grapes.

I ws worried it was jsut he type of weed, the onlly type ive grow out in the past sussesfully is black widow (original white widow), they are easy to tell ... females always come early ---

But is it possible that the bunches of grapes are female and im jsut not used to this type of weed?

If

i remember when i had the 10 ounces of seeded bud my allergies kept going off. i was sneezing a lot more than usual and now that i think of it it was probably because of all the pollen in the bud

theres no possible way its a true female, you gotta pull the sacs off, the bigger the sacs the more pollen, your gonna have a shitload of seeds. At two weeks of flowering, rip em down and focus on the others

they will go outside tonight, This grow was originally suposed to go outside anyway so i have all the equipment jsutnever used (I got to paranoid about outdoors but have sights already picked out and set up from months ago -- hermi bud is the perfect test plant.

Ill plus rep you all later

thanks

Yeah...going to kill the hermie. I took a clone that seems to be surviving off the female bagseed that remains...and like I said I have 5 ak48s that are now a whopping 1" tall.

This lone remaining flowering female better be as good as she looks!!! ;P

I also have about 10 other plants going, but most are Thai, sativa's and things like that (70 days plus flowering on most the others). I jsut hate to lose a plant(s)

I think in the future i may jsut stick with female plants... the lenght of time to grow even for expensive types make it worth it -- but thats another thread for my wandering mind.

The black widow will tide me over

If these hermies don't effect the rest of your other grows then I'd keep them. They still make some very smokable weed/good weed to make brownies/butter with/hash/hash oil, ect...You get the idea.

I say bag that seeded weed up and sell it. Then again im a hustla, you can ask about me. Nah jk but I don't know its going to be a lot of seeds and a lot less THC. Plus you have another female in the house. Pollen can travel upstairs, around hallsways and through vents. I'd hustle that shit stillt tho
