My plant is just nearing 7 weeks flowering, Around week 4 I found some male pods near the bottom of the plant, There has been no males around it and no chance of pollination.
I have reason to believe this is hermaphrodite because I left the lights on for one night about a week or so before I found the pods.

There are banana like things coming out of the main cola, I know these are traits of a hermaphrodite.

Now in the lower branches in some of the but some pistils have fallen off and it looks like seeds are forming, so I removed one and smashed it and it was very wet in the middle and it was rounded, smelled very much like watermelon.

Today I pulled some buds off the bottom to test the smoke because I am very anxious, and when i smashed one of the calyxes it was wet in the middle and was very plump and looked as if it had the same round formation.

Does this mean all my buds pistils will fall off and turn into seed? or do all wet buds look like this?

Here is a pic of my plant in week 7 flowering.
Sorry for bad quality, under about 200w hoping for 2-3 oz for personal use.

if the bananna things are bunched together it's a male..if the pods are bunched its a male..female and male plants can have spikes along the big branches and stems..there green..thats normal..if it does turn out it's a hermie u might want to grow it out..the seeds will be 100% female...but a few might carry hermie traits..

There are a few clusters and a few singles, yes I know that it is male organs and I am not a fan of femanized seeds do to the high factor of hermaphrodites.

Thank you for your post, I am wondering if my bud will become polinated and all this bud will just turn into seed.

Man that would ruin my month.............. :\

The male pollen sacks you found early on concern me.

Inside the calyxes in question; when you open them up, is there a single (one per calyx) light green/tan, pop-able, orb inside.. almost like a little water balloon? If so, that's a premature seed forming, and you may very well have more :( They shouldn't fall off (until they are very over-matured), if that's the case, but you will likely have a few seedy buds, probably some more seeded than others (and hopefully a few with none at all, depending how well the pollen was dispersed). If you have not only bananas, but seeds, ASAP would be the time to flush so that you don't risk those last pure calyxes, going to seed as well. Remember, natural (non-forced) hermy seeds are useless. Good luck!

You can go at it with a tweezers and pull the little bananas off and that might help reduce the amount of seeds.

Any seeds your plant will produce will be hermie if it's self pollinated.

Ahh, a great answer from a true knowledgeable grower! I did my first flush this morning, could you explain to me why the flush will help?

Just checked and I saw a cluster of about 8 seeds in the middle of the bud.... What should I do.....

jesus christ i knew this would get fucked like everything else

and i dont even have a fucking male

the bud is covered in those bananas and I removed a few and pollen went everywhere, all over the main cola.....

Flushing will help more or less, depending how much nutrient your herb is holding on to... with organics, the flushing can be briefer (some prefer not to flush at all when growing organicaly, although I wouldn't recommend it), while with inorganic/chemical nutrients you should flush a little longer to remove excess salts, but not long enough to truly 'starve' the plant.. this not always, but *sometimes* can increase resin production, but the plant can begin turning on and 'consuming' itself if you go overboard with your flush.

It's for flavor, and to prevent a harsh hit; 'fasting' your plant just before the chop, and being sure the medium itself is nute-free, removes any trace of the unconverted nutrient that may be in your buds, by encouraging the plant to quickly put that nutrition to use, converting it to the plant tissue you're after ;)

No problem.. it's definitely frustrating, but it's a learning experience too, and from the looks of it, you should still see some decent smoke. :)

At this point you'd be best off flushing the plant for a few days.. if you've just watered, allow your medium (assuming you're in a soil or soil-like medium) to dry out almost entirely, then 'flood' with water until you get a good amount of run off. You've probably noticed that most soil-type mediums won't immediately absorb, and sponge up moisture if they are quite dry, versus somewhat damp medium (think of the first time you added moisture to your medium, it barely got wet before flooding through the bottom). Stop flushing when you notice the medium is again beginning to retain it better, shouldn't take long and you should achieve some decent run-off.
Flushing this way, without soaking already-soaked medium, will draw much salt and excess nutrient through the bottom, without drowning your plant. Once you've done this allow your medium to dry as much as you normally would, then water her twice more over the next few days. After that, she'll have used up her reserves, and you'll be ready to cut her down.

Do you think I will have more than an ounce of herb? or do you think it will all be pollinated?

You can get an idea of how badly it's been pollinated, by taking note of the number of pistils that have turned brown, prematurely. Once the pistils have come into contact with pollen, they'll soon turn brown, letting you know that calyx has reverted to producing a seed. The more white pistils you have left, the more pure bud you'll have left. That'll give you a rough idea, anyway. :)

Very good post!! I was wondering why some pistils have been browning pre maturely. Thank you to all who have posted very very helpful!

Very sad day for me though =\

hey man sorry to hear about your plant but dont worry i had the same thing happen to me and still got some really good tasty buds off of it so dont let this discourage you. and let it be a learning experience. when you first start seeing the bananas get some tweezers and start picking this should slow down the hermi rate. and when and if you see pollen sacks cut them off before they open at least save the plant from being pollinated. good luck

well should i chop it now or continue to let it grow until harvest? :( Thank you for the information

Too late to pull em off, I tried that and just got pollen ALL over my 12 inch cola!!!!!!!!! noooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Hairs are still white, as you can see in the pictures, do you think it will still be good smoke?

By the way man, sorry to hear about ur plant also... This is the worste thing ever, 1 week till I should have harvested...

I think im gonna pull it up before the whole thing turns to seed.

Is this a good idea?

Will my white pistils turn red in the drying stage?

yeah if you got one week till harvest chop it i had to do the same still good weed and if you spray your plants with a little water it will decrease the effects of the pollen since one opened
