Hey man my first run was with those but I had 6 of them that was 12 bulbs each ballast will hold two bulbs..
Man I used them from start to finish, And believe it or not, but I had some dank, dense nugs..
I still have them, I am going to use them for moms in my next run.. But when I move I want to do a little closet run with them to do a side by side growth comparision..

But you'll be good may take a little longer though, But I do suggest HPS, But it's hard to tell these days

You can grow them as long as you want or as tall as you want it depends on how long you veg them for..

Do you have pics?

Dear Master, 1st indoor grow, could use some help. Veg and training going so well, decided to take the leap from my T5 system to a grow tent and 1000 hps. If I get a 4' x 8' x 6.5' tent, what would be optimal size cfm fan and filter?

Have heard different takes on this--the most commonly offered being: take the cubic footage of space (for me 208 cubic feet, add about 70 percent to that for drag placed on fan by filter, and other things, then divide that by 3. Based on this guide, I bought a 135 cfm S & P centrifigal duct fan, and what seemed to me, a large looking carbon filter from General Hydroponics, rated to handle 125 to 176 cmf. Then ran this by local hydroshop owner and he said I'd have heat problems from the 1000 hps in this small a space. He said get a 440 cfm fan, and a fucking enormous looking filter that costs $200.

What to do? Also, in this tent would it be possible to run one fan that could handle the air cooled hood of the 1000 hps AND then exhaust the air out of the tent through a carbon filter? Could I just rely on passive intake? Or if I need a bigger exhaust fan than my Solar and Palau 135 cfm, would there be so good usage of the 135 fan I already have for this set up.

One last thing, I would probably be venting into the room tent would be in, versus out the window. Would this be a problem. And this is in a lower story room in my house, but I can't have any smell in the floor above, as I have a consulting business in my home.

I'm currently practicing on some bag seed I got from some regs, and on my first round I just threw the seeds in some potting soil, and watered it.

Well, needless to say only one sprout appeared. It came up today when I got home from work. I was extremely happy.

I have some durban poison on the way, and it's supposed to be a relatively easy grow, but I obviously want to give the seeds I pay for the best care possible. By the time I get the DP, germinate the seeds, and get them ready, it should be warm enough where I live to just sit them outside when I go to work in the morning and bring them in at night.

I am planning on growing my crop outside, but as for what I have now. I have the one sprout, and I just planted 8 germinated seeds. With the seedlings, how important is the light? If I'm just going to leave them outside, do I need to concern myself with grow lights etc?

i am about to start up a grow room agin last time i killed them all off by not having the right nutrient sol so i was hoping some one can help me with a chart or some thing like that i am using general hydroponics nutrients

Can anyone post somelinks for ventilation set up. I am trying to vent my closet that is 5'wx2'dx8't, i am going to run a 1000W Hps w/ Mh conversion bulb. I am thinking about sealing the door and ringing the roof down to 6' t.

Masterofgenetics I need some help. What causes leave to cup and some yellow appears on the the leaf close to the stem about a third of the way down the leaf and not the end. I am new at this hydro thing.

i would recommend removing the door that is for the closet and closing the area with velcro and viscuine.(sp?) this will keep it light tight and will allow you to have access as well as custom holes for ventilation.

a cool tube is something you may want to invest in to keep your temps stable.

I have several clones that I just transplanted and are ready to start their veg cycle...I have a room in flower right now (1000w hps) with room off to the side for my afformentioned clones. Question: Can I move my clones into the room for 12 hours...and let them soak up some 1000w hps light, then before the timer switches off...just put them back in my compact fluro veg/clone room for the other 12hrs to maintain their veg. (sm veg room has 3- 25w daylight compact fluros)
I would only do this for a few weeks until my flowering senoritas are ready to be harvested. This may shave some time off my usual 2 week 19/5 veg cycle...what if any could be the side effects....they may not like going from extreme 1000w hps to 75w of compact fluro....
is this a stupid question/idea
guess im gonna have to try it with one or two and see if they like it or not.

I don't think there'd be an issue unless they were out of light (in transit) for an extended period of time. I am wondering a similar situation that includes when to use a 250 hps and when to use a 250 mh, and they can be run simultaneously. I know the basic MH for veg and HPS for flower, but I wonder when in the flowering stage I should turn on the MH along with the HPS that is on 12/12 now.

I wonder if there is a optimal way to be effective and increase the eficacy.

If you are referring to when the new growth twists because of ph issues, that happens to my leaves when my ph is too high (like me!).

Also, I believe the leaves will not form properly if ph is too low.

That is what I have observed in my plants, at least that is what I am convinced of.

I don't believe you can fix that twisted growth, but you need to get your ph in check by lowering it with ph down.

Just my opinion.

hey guys im doin my first grow and im a week into flowering and im gettin some balls on top of a few r they def males? a sad day in growing lol

Im trying to do a guerilla grow and I'm wondering how far the smell will travel (20 plants 10 aurora indica 5 ak48 and 5 durban poision) im about 500 yards off of any trail and the closest trail is a trail that isnt traveled often (this is the best spot i can get where i live so i can check on them regularly) when they're flowering is the smell going to reach the trail there is mainly pine trees and other small trees densely populated inbetween the spot and the trail.

Really need some help my question is i have just finished my small first grow, which was quite a success and had some really gud buds very sticky and very strong smelling, i followed the harvest information on this site, and cured on string in a dark room for 10 days.
the crystals are still there but it seems to have lost its smell is this normal?
and i think i may have over dried them and have read you can get moisture back in to my buds using jars if so how does this work, i would be really greatful if someone can help me.

Yes if you place your buds in regular glass canning jars it will redistribute moisture from the middle out. Also to start a threat go to a forum and at the top right of the thread there will be a button to click on that says start thread. Hope this helps.

hey i want to grow in my attic and im a 1st time beginner, what are some necasary things\methods that i need to know for a succesful grow?

can u help my plant has slowed down to a halt after i have taken clones from her no drooping or any other signs she has just stopped growing and its been 3 days is this normal
