I got one of those, i dont like it so much. I wish i never would have wasted the money darn it :( im going to buy a mini microscope soon. Theyre so nice when you can focus in and out. One of these days lol :):):)
This was cheap, came on a slow boat from China, cost pennies.

I've heard mixed reviews on those mini microscope things, sometimes they can be almost too powerful, I've heard it said.

But then you know me, I love low tech :)

Also from a slow boat from China. Works great, perfect magnification for inspecting trichs, sexing, etc. Tiny little thing and its plastic, not brass! Serves its purpose and cheap!

Preesh bro! It should be as easy for everybody as it is for me(growing start to finish water only type thing) :joint:
Yep, apart from a couple doses of Miracle Grow at week 3 and week 4 all I add is water, the nutes are in the soil.

I also recently added a couple doses of Fish, Blood & Bone to add a little pep to the soil as we approach the last quarter.

its pretty ok, but only when stationary. You gonna rigg it up so it is still and BOOM you can take many pics

shutter speed= 1/1000 which is ok for what I need

It also has video.

Google microcapture and you should find similar ones!!

How much is the jewlers loupe? and is it decent? digi micro take a bit to set up properly

If I might make a suggestion, I'd use that t5 fixture for side lighting IMO your girls will def benefit from that.

and @astral You can pick of a 30-100x loupe off amazon ebay ect. for ~3 bucks.

my digi microscope is good but only if I remove a sample to view on a table

hoping the loupe is better and easier to quickly view

You most certainly may.

I had the thought of side lighting prior to the grow then completely forgot about it until you just mentioned it.

I couldn’t/wouldn't use my T5 for side lighting in this tent for a couple of reasons.

1) Its surprisingly heavy maybe easily 50lb or more and it doesn’t have attachments to hang that way so the risk of it slipping and falling on some of the ladies is too great.

2) In my current tent the tubes would be too close to the leaves.

I would need a bigger tent, but there are size restrictions I have to work with .

Getting a four foot twin tube set up is a thought, but the tubes getting too close to the leaves might still be an issue.

Another perhaps more workable option might be if I could somehow concoct an arrangement whereby I would have a thin 4 foot metal rod, upon which I could have around 4 or 6 CFL's and I could slide an position the small CFL's (mid level) either side of the plants along the back wall of the tent.

Does anyone know of such an arrangement/item.

And yes, those Jewelers loupes are cheap as Chips on ebay.

1 foot Cola's?

I'll get there somewhere down the line, but I try to use the least amount of electric, the T5 helps with that.

How long do you typically veg for?

Google garment rack boss and see what you find! Wal-mart has them for $15.

Ya buddy, one foot, around two month veg, yours should do it too, youll see :):):)
Pretty sure I'll get there in future grows, but not on 4 weeks vegging, haha.

Live and learn, Ay?

This grow was a 4 weeks veg, the next will be 5 in my new vegging tent (purchase imminent) the one after will be 6 weeks and so on, till I'm getting optimal results, with the least amount of electric used.

Also stepping up my clone game, with a new cloning set up, far superior to my current primitive set up.

It's only gonna cost me a few bucks/Euro but my results should no doubt improve dramatically.

My first clone is growing nicely, looks like I'll be pulling my second successful clone and potting it within the week.

Pics will follow in the update in the next couple of days.

How much dry weight do you typically pull off a 1 foot cola plant?

I was thinking something more like this:

spot light bar.JPG

A spot light bar.

Are we on the same page now? :)

Damn it, I'm now gonna be on a quest to find one of these damn things that takes CFL bulbs and is 3-4 foot long.
