HEPA air filter question

Hey guys. I'm new here... Just finishing setting up my first grow room and have a question about using the HEPA air filter. I bought a 6 inch one (its not inline it attaches to the fan on the outside) because I have a 6 inch fan/ducting but from what I've read I don't think my fan is strong enough to use this filter with. Should I try and exchange it for a 4" one or try and us a phresh filter that goes in the ducting??

The lights I'm running the ducting to have glass covers on them & it exhausts in another room... Do I even need to filter this air?

Hope you're having an awesome day!

You only need to filter it if odor control is required. (or if your fresh air comes from outside and you think you need to filter it for pests) If you need odor control then get a can carbon filter (spec'ed to your fan size of course) and it needs to PULL the air through the filter from inside your grow area and exhaust into wherever, in your case a different room.

Odor isn't the issue at all. Retardedly I didn't realize the HEPA air filters and even the phresh ones are used where the exhaust is... Derp. I'm trying to filter the air coming in from where the fan is in the window. Are the big square filters the only intake fans?? Sorry I'm so confused. It's my first time around

OH WAIT. Is that your 6" inline fan in the background on a shelf in that photo? If so, I think I get what your trying to do here. You need to consider re-engineering it to PULL through the lights and not PUSH through them.

To change the direction of the fan we literally have to deconstruct a whole wall which is nailed and covered with cardboard and whatnot... So I think we are just going to buy a filter to put in the window or cut to fit in the ducting?? Is this a dumb idea?
