this is my first hempy gro i wanted to try somthing simple

since i am a dwc guy

after about 10 days my babies are still working on their third leaf set

wtf? why is it soo slow?

there so little

i undug the starter cube i buried in the perlite/verm. and there were alot of strong little roots. but they were all very short. it seems like they cant bury through the medium.

when u water the hempy buckets the medium towards the bottom is very hard i can barley poke a hole in there with a pen.

do you think this is the reason for my slow growth

im shocked that my hydro is going this slow right now
might just go hook in my bucket after all

They do start a little slow.
I think it helps to water a little everyday until the roots are in the the hard.

Once the roots penetrate the hard
they will take off just as fast as dwc.

Just be sure and let them dry well between full watering.

I use a 10ml baby spoon to feed RO daily until they get about 6-8 inches.
This way the rez can dry out,
but the plant can get some water and oxygen
near the root stem.

10ml of water daily
is just enough
to keep them searching for more.

thanks earl i have been watering to much then

i have using half a water bottle twice a day to water

stays relevant.
Make sure you empty the bottom of the bucket... bad things can develop down there as your roots are not able to dry the reservoir. Once your roots can reach the bottom, you should not have to worry about it.

thanks gro ima start doing that

i was before but i got to lazy to wait for the whole thing to empty and i only poured out most of it(pretty heavey) lol

the reason i keep watering it constantly is because i was thinking of it like my recirc. dripper system

where it drips for 15 min a hr through the hydroton to promote the roots to go down the rez

but i guess since its not hydroton you dont have to do it as much

which makes me feel better because this gets even easier!

You need to let them dry out.

Do not water until they wilt.

Then you will know how long it takes to dry out the bucket.

They will recover if you don't let them wilt to "dry" leaves.

Feel the weight of the dry bucket.

Then add a gallon of nutes and check the weight in the morning,
then you'll know the ∆ .

You can feel the difference and it will be apparent.

Do not water again until the bucket is very light.
about every three or four days under 400w with a 14 inch plant,
depending on the bucket size and the VPD in your room.

Your on track now.
