id my self go with cfls cause if needed u can add alot to shady areas. plus they r way cheap an u can up the wattage at any time for real cheap. they also come in many diff spectrums so make sure u get th 27000 k to 30000 k for flowering ur girlies:)

haha good looks i heard the hid were pretty expensice but were nice i just wanted to see if the cfl work well as well lol

I added 3 cfls all 27000 along with the lights already in the aerogarden. I am in a space smaller then 5x5 ....
Light the area up you will be fine.. the nice thing about um is they dont get hot in my small area i have to play with!!
Good luck on your journey!!!
Im on my first grow. its some interesting stuffzzz!!!

HID would be the best but they do have some disadvantage such as heat I have seen some grows with CFL 5-10 of them that equal the reaults of a HID you get a 150 watt HPS that give around 16000 lumens thats hard to do with CFL! that would about I have seen as low as 75.99 that come with every thing(hightimes.com as alink on the right side I think discountlight.com somin like that) plus shippin

dont get me wrong hps is the way to go when flowering but if you dont want the heat and dont want to break the bank cfls is a good way to go im not tryna supply the the city just tryna get from harvest to harvest but like you said hps is nice if you have the ventilation in order but im happy with my cfls they do the job for under 50 bucks every 6months

85-90w per plant of mixed spectrum (50% lamps 2700k 50% lamps 4100k) is optimum for cfls. i prefer to 43w lamps, others swear by 26w... any more than that and heat becomes an issue. lamps never farther than 8 inches from canopy.....
