Helping a friend who lives in Mass. Info?

OK here's what I've learned, can Mass patients supplement this info for me?

1. Patients need to get a doctors recommendation to use MMJ.
Can their regular doctor write the rec? Does it have to be a canna doc? Is there a special form? Do caregivers accept recs from regular doctors? (here in california dispensaries like "weed doctors" recs because they can be verified online.

2. Recommended patients can apply for a cultivation license and grow OR they can find an approved caregiver who will cultivate for them.
how does one find a caregiver? what is the relationship between the patient and the caregiver? how are prices set?

TYIA she is suffering and I'd like to help.

try looking on line for the rules. when you find them read them from front to back and then memorize em.

I will check that out.

It's very confusing, and I'm in Cali, where I thought confusion and contradiction was invented!

A MA resident can get a valid recommendation, but there are no dispensaries until next year, you can use a caregiver, but a caregiver can only serve one patient, you can bring it back from Rhode Island, but RI won't sell to non-residents, you can grow if you're broke, but you need to apply for a $150 license?

it's like the worst kind of circle jerk

Rhode Island and Massachusetts don't have a Reciprocity Clause in place; thus, it's still a misdemeanor to cross state lines with cannabis (because, unless you're a MMP, it's a misdemeanor to have the cannabis in the first place). Um.... MA's laws are still being decided upon and probably won't be finalized for 6-12 months; regardless of what they tell you/us.
