Help Yellowing Leaves 4no of White Widow @16 Days Old and Little Growth!!!

  • Hi all,,

I am currently growing my first batch of ladys.
I bought my seeds from (am i allowed to state?) 4no White and got 1 kush free.
I germinated them all prior to planting in multi purpose compost peat free.
All for first week seemed to be well, and then leaves started going yellow
on the widows and there seems to be little growth on widows on comparison
with the kush which seems to be doing really well as shown in pic. Some of leaves on widow
actually look to be half developed.

Kush is about 4inches Tall,, Whites 3-3.5 IncheView attachment 2212541View attachment 2212542View attachment 2212543View attachment 2212544View attachment 2212545View attachment 2212546

I am running them on a 24hr light cycle under a 600Watt Sunmaster.
Humidity is around 20% and Temp is usually around 32 Degress Celious
I have one fan for intake and one for outtake Air. Watering is usually everyday
waiting for soil to be completely dry before next watering.

It is my first grow but i ve tryed to do it as best I can.

    My set up is

6x 5 foot Flourescents (Although not on at present may use them aswell at flowering stage)

1x 600 Watt Sunmaster Duel Spectrim 24Hours On

    1x Air Intake

    1x Air Outtake

    1x Rotating Fan

Watering every-Day when soil dry and misting of leaves

O yea and just started feeding a few days ago with high nitrogen feed, thinking this may be prob?

Really am looking forward to getting some good advice. I personally think I have choosen the wrong type of Smoke
for 1st time? Have 3 Cream Madarins ready to go,, tempted to germinate them,, as don t want to waste all the electricity
    for 1x Kush.

    Cheers Guys

    Paul

Im no pro but over watering is a common mistake for new growers, i use fox farms Ocean Forest and i only have to water once a week, get yourself a ph,light, moisture meter they are 3 bucks on ebay.com that why you will always know for sure when to water.

Now for nutes again im not pro but my two girls are super huge and bushy they are 4 weeks old as of 2 days ago and i havnt used any nutes yet, i havnt had to they are just now showing the sign of yellow tips so this sunday ill be introducing them to nutes, as i water only once every sunday.

these are my two girls at 15 days old, again at this young i did no specail care but give them water every sunday, give them light 18/6, and i started them from seed in there final pot (4gallon pot) in Fox Farms Ocean Forest, they really seem to love it, now two weeks later as of this week they arealmost triple in size and still no nutes yet.... Hope this helps somewhat (these are 15 days from sprout / 17 days from seed) i did the shot glass method of germination they both cracked just after 24 hours then i planted them)

thanks for replying,,,, yea i have one ordered on ebay at min!!! the compost i am using seems to dry out very quick,,, although I think it is because of the heat
in my closet. temps wer 38-40Degress celcious before i added intake and out take fans and also the rotating fan.

Yea i have read that over feeding is a common mistake beginners make. But its the fact that the Kush is doing well in comparison to the white widows is throwin
me!

this are 2 beautys m8, in comparison to mine!! im jealous!!lol im seriously considering germinating the Cream Madarian Auto Flowering seeds!!!
don t want to be left with 1 plant at end of this!!! what you think?

hmmmm... at fist glans it seems like you have a few problems on your hands ..

for once ..
low humidity for seedlings is not that good .. and 20% is low .. best is 40-60% I belive and even higher for seedlings 80% would have been better .. in flowering 30-40% is best ..

high temps .. get it under 30C .. over that it can stall growth a bit .. over 35 is bretty bad .. I belive 25-30 is best .. 20-25 at night ..

and yea over watering is a commom mistake it seems . when you water use temperet water .. if tab let it stand out a day or two PH it to 6,5 and water slowly untill you get like 10% runn off .. then let it dry for a few days .. untill pots fell lighter and are dry at the top inch or so ..

and what kind of soil is that ? atlest spend them 20$ on quality soil (sorry if that is good soil ?) need airy soil .. lega/sand/peralit .. and some good mixture of wormcasting/soil and peetmoss .. use good drain holes in them pots and maybe fill a bit of lega in the bottom and top .. for drain and to keep the moister if you have high temps ..

if that was me I would try to get some good soil .. and some nice pots with good drain holes in them (maybe yours have ?)

then repot em .. make sure new soil is at a PH of 6,2-6,8
dont drawn em ..

try to get humidity up a bit (you can still spray for that .. but wait a day or two and only when lights come on .. not before it go off or is off)

cut the 600W sun master untill they are a few weeks atlest .. no need for that much light in veg .. your 6 tubes will be more then enough and would also help you with your heat problems and low humidity Im sure .. once they are bigger they can also take more heat .. 32C might even be ok if the strain is right .. and humidity will raise when plants get big in a small place .. so keep working at it ..

best of luck ..

ooh yea and most importent .. cut the nitrogen feeding !!! need to be like the other guys plants .. in size .. then start with 1/4 strenges .. then half .. then full .. much better to give a littel bit less a littel to late then to burn yyour small babies ..

in short ... seems like your giving them summer and full feeding .. but they are still babies .. need spring .. lower temps .. higher humidity .. less light ..

think logic .. its not just a magic closed wher you put light and seeds in and the more stuff you trow in at them the more you will get out of it ..

its nature .. plants .. need as close to nature as possible .. and as close to perfect nature that is .. do some research ..

dont want to call you liar but i dont think your letting the soil dry all the way out if your watering every day....and they are too young for nutes...

Cheers all for taking time to give me advice! I ll keep you all up dated on how my lady's are doing!! And add more pics in a week hopefully with good results!

Slipon I ve taken your advice and cut out the 600watt sun master , temps wer def running to high and affecting humidity!!!

Since just using 6 flourescents Temps are now around 28degress celcious :),,, I ll also not feed them again!!!
soil is regular compost peat free?

Pots do have good drainage holes, do you guys think repotting in new soil be a good idea? I was goin to purchase perlite and make up a 50/50 mix?

I bought a PH tester of eBay ,, look s cheap and made in guess wer yep china,, not sure if it's reliable but it's showing
a ph reading in all pots at around 7! Think I ll purchase a better quality 1 though!

It also looks like the runt of them all is near dead, so I ve starting germinating 1 cream madarian !
Thinking it will be interesting to see how it does under new conditions! Will keep you all updated!!
O yea also purchased an humidifier, anyone ever use? Looking forward to getting it in use!!

Na def was m8,,, it was the 600watt sunmaster in closet causing high temps was bone dry temps wer 39 degress c at one time!!!

Hi Guys, time for bit of an update with pics,, thankfully things are looking much better!! as previously mentioned
I stopped using the 600watt sun master, and was just using the 5foot Flourescent Tubes,,, about this past week
in evenings I put the Flourescents off and use the sunmaster for about 6 hours approx. I also have fan going,

I have also germinated a Cream Mandairian and growing it in perlite/compost/worm-castings 40/40/20 mix.
I repotted one of widows the wimpiest one in same mix, thought would leave other 2 widows incase it would annoy
them as they seem to be catching up with the daddy kush quite well.

I seem to have 1 issue especially with the Kush, the bottom leaves seem to be quite dry and have bright yellow
spots on them. I have give them there first feed about 4 days ago.

I think I will keep them in veg for another 2 weeks then start flowering. What you guys think?IMG_3338.jpgIMG_3341.jpg
