it is a fire blanket! but ya foil cause "hot spots" supposedly. i dont think the fire blanket would cause those though.

yeh man lot of nutes lower the ph some get it up higher but not many that i have seen i use the gh nutes and they lower my ph few points i recomend getting at least a ph meter from lows for the soil its like 10$ and tends to work ok not perfect but you get what you pay for long as its in the 6 ,s your ok

so how do i fix this? flush until my ro is 6.5? what do i want my ph to be of my food?

Hard to say, because we don't know if the PH is high or low. I had that problem once, and if i remember correctly it was due to me putting seedlings in some soil I mixed with way too much lime. That would mean it's a 'high PH' problem.(if I remember correctly) Anyway...yeah, you should flush it with some PH 6.5 water until you get the runoff close to that number. Then keep everything you give it, PH'ed at 6-5-6-7. Some will tell you to go a little lower with the PH, but i like to keep mine at about 6.7. Soil tends to go acidic over time(lower PH), so I like to use 6.7 to keep it in check. My plants like it, so i must be doing it right. Also, if you look at some nutrient absorbtion tables, 6.5-6.8 is the optimum range for soil grows, so it's logical to keep it at 6.6-6.7, if possible.

The foil, or emergency blankets, are perfectly harmless unless you are using HPS/MH lighting. Flouros aren't intense enough to create dangerous 'hotspots' so it's not an issue unless your using HIDs.

I know that's not the problem, I was just throwing that out there for future reference. :)

No I don't think the temps are causing a problem
If you don't know what reverse osmosis water is than I doubt you are using it

edit: IceWaterBong87- you don't have a clue what you are talking about, I suggest that you only offer advice to others on things that you know for a fact
He is using CFL's they should be within an inch of the foliage, thanks for you attempt at legit advice though

dude im talkin about second picture n y do u gotta act all high and mighty man over freaken advice on a plant
his temps may f***** read 83f , 81f but it doesnt measure the heat between lights n the plant

thx for being a dick to try n make urself set aside from the group u overly intelligent being

u act like uve grown for 20 yrs n forgot wat it is to really like chronic being friendly n stoned

Yes I saw the second picture and those lights are not too close to the plant as you suggested. You could have easily not said anything just like I could have not said anything. It goes both ways except what I said was good advice and yours bad. Sorry you got your feelings hurt man. You came in here and probably didn't read the thread at all before posting. The plants are not showing any signs of heat stress, so how could the CFL's be too close? They sure as shit aren't too intense to be that close. I can't take you seriously with your lack of punctuation skills, you type like a fool.

so what if i got feelings mr hardcore intelligent
oh its the ph ph ph ph
after 7- 8 nodes n one plant flowering he need ph testing
so i assume the problem should be something else

dude its ok if u type back at me just as long as u learn a lesson that u shouldnt be a dick about things all the time

im sure if it was one of ur buddy who mightve suggested something to you u wouldnt be suchi a dick about it just cuz it aint over the internet:leaf:

put urself in a high school setting
ur the kid who "knew" the answer n u corrected the dude who raised his hand n gave it a shot n got ur ass deservably beat after

n ur using the internet distance from me to "man" urself up by not being afraid to say whatever u want

if u wanna say more just pm me n be the bigger man that u are n not wreck this guys thread anymore ok english major?

I agree with your edit Tom. Its not the first time I have seen such from him.:wall:

The only way to accurately measure soil ph is by testing the soil itself. I may have missed it but has he said what type of soil he is using?

The small amout of feeding you have been doing, you should not have a ph or salt buildup/lockout issue. I think you need get some food in them. Try 2.5 ml TB with 15 ml. BB. Also get some Cal-Mag and add 1.25 ml of that. These are all per gallon doses. I think they are just very hungry. Feed them twice in a row then begin feed/water/feed/water ect.......

i checked the ph of my run off and it was around 5 or lower. so i am hoping that that was the problem and she will fix herself now as long as i keep feeding with phd water. will these leaves begin to look normal again? or will these be twisted and curled for the life of the plant?

Before you start doing that, you better flush them with PHed water, or else it will take forever for the PH to come up to an acceptable level. By that time, it'll probably be too late. If your runoff is coming out at 5.0, then your soil PH is lower than that, in the '4's', which is waaaay too low.

have you check the ph? if not than thats probably the problem. same thing happened to me. right when i started using nutes it went downhill and its because the nutes wil lower the ph of the water you feed with when u mix them together. make sure the ph is correct at all times is what i have learned from this experience. if their only a week old you might not want to be using nutes either. to early for that!
