IM currently 31/2 weeks into flowering my 2 sour diesel plants. They are in a 2x3 closet with a 150 watt MH. The type of MH i got emits a cool blue/yellow spectrum of light. Which has worked great for veg. Now that im in flowering im starting to notice a little bit of slower development of my buds compared to others at 31/2 weeks. I do have lots of bud sets and white hair clusters surrounded by trichomes that are begging to spread everywhere. However i just feel that there a little behind schedule than what i would like to see for this stage. Ive been looking into supplement lighting to put with the MH to get more of the red spectrum in my closet. I have looked at everything from full spectrum flood lights to RED LEDS that go for about 50 bucks on line. IM looking for the best and most inexpensive way to supplement my MH and boost my red levels. Any suggestions of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all and keep ur thumbs green and sticky!

Get some 65 watt CFL'S cool white tubes should do the trick...
:leaf:Thanks i was looking at those last night in wallmart actually as well and the only reason i didn't go with them right then was that i saw a full spectrum flood light and i wanted to be sure that cfl would be better. Ur talking about the CFLs which screw into a normal fixture that are shaped like a corkscrew or the regular cfl tubes? I have two sets of 48in cfl tubes but the fixtures are so big it would block alot of my MH since my space is so limited.

noooooo cool white tubes ...

T5 Orange fluoros !!! 5000 lumens at 3000 kelvin in a 4 foot tube and 54 watts

I am currently using 3 orange fluoros as supplemental lighting in my flowering veg chamber. Its a fact that mh is as good for quality as hps, the buds will just be much smaller and less dense, maybe even a bit under developed. But the thc is the same, if not higher. Hps is better for flower for every other reason besides initial quality, but to get the full spectrum done right, need more hps than mh, so your supplemental lighting would in retrospect need to be more lumens than your mh, although mine isnt.

I do have space issues and there fore also have heat worries as well. This is why i didnt buy the full spectrum flood lighting last night. I have the Marijuana growers bible by ed rosenthal and he suggest ising a flood light in the book. But ive read from so many people that say the exact opposite. Im gonna look into getting a smaller fixture for some of the 6700 K cfls lights bc i really cant put my 48in fixture in the small space i had it hanging at an angle during veg bc it dosnt fit in the closet horizontally. Now the cool white is or isnt a good idea, i understand the concept that a suplemnt would be best if the lummens and wattage were higher than my MH but cash and room are big factors at this point. Thanks for all ur guys reply all good info!bongsmilie
