HELP with Supercropping....?

did a bit of reading on the supercropping technique of damaging the stem to strengthen it and possibly increase yield. i chose the tallest of my colas (i topped) and pinched it enough to make about the top 4-5" of the cola to bend over. my plant is about 3 weeks into flowering right now. my question is, did i make a mistake? i didnt find any info in my reading as to when to supercrop. whether it should be done in veg. or flower stage. i'm thinking i may have a made a mistake but am hoping for good news.... any info on the matter would be appreciated. thanks. :hump:

just bend each node until it gives out but doesnt snap and try it on one node and see how the plant takes it and if it does it well then do it to all of them

Ya you did. Not by supercropping but by trippin the main cola, or top. It works great for lower and side branches, just not so good for the tops. No worries, just treat the top as a LST so too speak. You will be fine.

ok...so what i get from your replies is that supercropping should be done in flowering stage, but only to lower or side branches. the portion of the cola above where i pinched will not die, correct? and if not, where can i expect to see the positive results of supercropping? above or below the pinch?

Heres the deal. You can SC veg or flower. I prefer to get it done within the first 4 wks of flower or so. You dont really want to stress the top of the plant too much. Most distance between it and the roots. And as I am sure you know, done to make the best use of your light. Dont be too scared, it works. Check back tomorrow and I will get some pics of my SC.

First pic is a bend I did probaly why the plant was a bit dry, healed a bit rough but ok. 2 pic is the bud on the branch from pic 1. As you can see no less for the wear. Pic 3 was done the day after watering. As you cab see a much cleaner bend, healed nicely. You should always try and do it shortly after water when the stem has a high water content.

i have heard you always want to do supercropping during veg so you can give plants a chance to destress before entering flowering which is already stressful enough.

I do it veg a first 4 weeks of flower or so. Its not all that stressful on a healty plant. I usually never even see a leaf droop.

thanks for the pics. the purpose of SC is to make leaves blocking bud sites grow in different directions, correct? is that the only benefit to doing it? and when i am SC, am i pinching fan leaves?

You pinch and bend the branch es coming off the main stem leading up to bud. Bend them into a better position to receive light. Sometimes you dont even have to pinch them. Just gently bend them around other braches or fan leaves. You want to remove as few fan leaves as possible. I do not remove any.

I find that most of these type of methods are best done during veg to get the best results out of it.

I do it to my fan leaves all the time to maximise light to the whole plant.

I agree Blaze. But I also know that it still give good results if done the first 3 or 4 weeks of flower. The more of anything you can get done is def a plus though. And listen to Blaze Green. He grows fucking trees man!!!!!

u can do it the whole way threw... in veg will alow mor tops to grow instead of lil bum fluff buds that would not see any light.. in flower it reduces height and can spead ur tops out to golf ball buds on a branch rather then a long vertical cola.... prob helps with mold as well... klik this link... it has all ur Q and A`s 1 could want, its big but deff worth the view

these tops above my hand probly would have nvr seen any light and would have been stripped if it wasnt for super cropping earlier in veg
