Help with my set up

Have approximately 15ftLx10ftWx12ftH grow space and not sure of the details of my system so if you have any advise Id appreciate it.
Have 1000 watt hydrofarm switchable hood/ballast set up and extra 600w setup with ballast.
plan on using long fluorescents as supplemental lighting in fl room
gonna try to run a super soil mix with roots org and RO water..
Window mounted ac for fresh air and hot air being expelled through the light ducting
separate closet veg space
plan on vegging in 1-2 gallon pots in roots org mix then transplant to 4-5 gallon pots with super soil for preflower-flower
Any strain recommendations? Feeding techniques? Im going for quality+yield+time and would love to work with something that has a strong yield and finishes in 12 weeks or so
I really like LST and scrog techniques
Any help you can offer is really appreciated because I want to develop a solid plan before switching on a light
also interested in acquiring clones if available

with all that space and both a 1000W and a 600W I would for sure look in to vertical growing

Supplemental floros are going to be a pain in the ass and get in your way. You don't need them with a 1000w and a 600w. If you are going to scrog then an 8' x 4' screen would be a perfect size for those two lights.

The room ac would be fine if you are venting the hoods with outside air. It has to be large enough so it doesn't run all the time. If you suck the air from the flower room through the lights and out the ac will never keep up and most likely freeze on you from running constantly. You are going to have to get your temps dialed in. I would do that now before you fill it with plants and are struggling with 100 degree temps.

Also there is no advantage to using ro water. Tap water is fine and has the calcium and magnesium your plants need.

I am curious about your veg room. Is it a separate room and what size is it? What light do you plan on using in it, the 600? How many plants are we talking about? I guess we are talking about a perpetual grow, right? That is a large area and if you want to max it, you could probably use 2-1000's for a more even light spread, but the power company would love you.

If i were you i would try to mimic my setup... look at the 'show me your flowers' post i just posted a picture up...

my room is 12ftx19ft. Close to yours. Do 2 scrogs. One on each side of room. put window ac in then sell 600w and get another 1k. Put a 1kw light over each scrog. not enough light IMO but that will still yeild your a lb per light with 6 plants under each scrog.

Veg for 3 weeks then put them into flower and drop screen ontop of them and tuck all tops first week of flower then let them grow on there own upward. Easily get 3 zips a plant x6 plants each scrog which is over 1 lb a light. Do cycle of 6 each month as your rotation an youll be perpetual harvesting 6 plants a month.

upgrade ac and lights as you go to spread plants out. You never use full 10x15ft room with only 2 lights. Poly a 5x10 section for veg. Leaves adaquate room for 2 flower scrogs.

so you can have a veg space in the same room as flower space? I was under the impression they needed to be in two separate locked rooms. this would be great news to me if i could have a smaller locked veg box in the same room as flowering plants. thanks for the help.

You can have them in the same room as long as there are minimal light leaks, try for none, from the veg box when lights are out. I'm not sure why you would need them locked if they are in your house.

i was under the impression veg and flower had to be in different rooms, wasn't sure if they could be in their own space within a room or in a completely separate area. thanks for the clarification.

How did you make out with your setup NoBarriers?

And yes, most window mounted ACs have settings for circulation of outside air. "open" brings in air from outside and "closed" does not.

1-2 gals? I'm assuming you increased to 3s or 5s? Based on your light intensity HPS 1600 how many plants are you keeping under the lights?

My setup is running fine accept a bad ballast has been blowing my main circuit. I narrowed it down to a recently added new ballast so hopefully the problem is solved.. I start the build out on the new place next week so I'm excited..

I like to grow an indica, a 50/50-ish hybrid, and a sativa (or sativa-dominannt hybrid). So all of my vaping bases are covered. Get some mother plants going and become a good cloner; patience is the key there. GL!
