first time grower long time toker... i've tried growing before and failed badly this time im on the right track thanks to you guys and gals on the forum. but as you know being a newbie i'm over anylizing everything (its almost under control) but what im tripping on now is about humidity, i'm in the desert so we have hardly any so i need to now how to do that as cheap as possible, my grow closet is 5'x5'x8 with 2 48 inch flous and a 100watt cfls with 5 northern light seedlings about 9 days old my temp stay between 74f and 81f but my humidity is at 39% and dropping (it was at 50%) so my question fellow stoners is how much do i need to have and how do i achieve it. i heard of having a bucket of water in the closet so when it evaporates it will cause humidity, so i put in 2 mop buckets about 2 gals a piece full of water but still my humidity continues to drop please help...

With an area like that why don't you use a normal humidifier rather than buckets of water. I would think the water would just get stagnant sitting there. I am working with a much smaller area (in the dry desert as well
) so polymer gel tubes work just fine to regulate my area.

You should be able to purchase a humidifier for next to nothing and would be alot more efficient.

One love. :joint:

You need a humidifier that can accomplish around 50% humidity, which is where you want the humidity... I seriously use a humidifier that can accomplish 65%+ with the door closed and it costs $19.99 at Wal-mart :|

Wal-Mart is #1 budget grow store, they got everything needed to build and maintain a grow.

there are cool mist and warm mist humidifiers. get a cool mist, it helps with the temps. i got mine used at a thrift/second hand shop for $8. it retailed for $49.00
they had like 7 different ones. all $5-$8

salvation army, good will, cosingment shops, craigslist all have sweet deals on stuff cheap.

I'm also in a dry climate, and picked up a cool mist humidifier at WalMart for $23. Brought temps down 10 degrees, and humidity up to 50%.
