Ok so I'm buying a 3x3x6 tent and wana go with hid lighting. Gunna have too be an air cooled hood but should I go with the hoods or the tube design? Idk what will work best for lighting the whole tent. I'm gunna scrog one plant in a 10 gal smart pot unless I can find a proven way too pull the most weight out of this small of a tent. Any suggestions n help would be appreciated!

600 watt magnetic ballast kooltube, horizontal, vertical, either way it'll do good in those dimensions. If you can afford two it'd put a mh/ and a hps light in at the same time throughout the entire plants life cycle!

I'm going too have 1 of each in it down the road once the tent starts paying for itself so too speak n then I'll add in another hood. But basically I'm thinking the tube design would be better with those little wings some of them have. 600 watt is def as low as I'll go but if I could find a 1000 watt air called tube for a decent price n knew I'd be able too use it in there without heat issues and enough room too not burn my plant lol

I just acquired some extra gear through a trade with a friend and plan on going with a similar setup. I will be using a 3x3 tent also with a daystar ac 6" hood, 600w digital ballast, and hortilux bulb. I plan on going with (3 or 4) five or seven gallon smart pots with a generous veg, training, and topping to maximize the canopy space. If you are only growing one plant I would think a scrog would be your best bet to maximize your yield.

I'd do whatever would produce more honestly lol and thanks for that link I with I could find one with a digital ballast with that same exact cool tube / reflectors setup

Tube rather than a hood. And make sure you get a shorter tube so you have room on either side for ducting...as you will have to raise and lower the light which could prove problematic...

what are the ambient temperatures of the room your tent will be in? i ask because packing a lot of light in that tight a space is going to challenge you. my ambient temperatures were 80 in my room and with 800 watts of light in a 4x4 tent i HAD to use an a/c unit to control temps. there are ways to rig portable a/c units so they aren't actually inside your tent, so you may want to look into that. if you figure out how to run a/c then i'd say 600 watt in a closed air cooled hood. that's around 66 watts/sq. ft and you want at-least 50 watts/sq. ft so you'd be golden. 1000 watt in that small a space is over kill. good luck!

6ft is to low for his setup. Go at least 80inches. Those lights have to stay 2-4 ft away from the tops. Unless you want to spend big money on a serious cooling system id get anything over 60inches
