HELP! Why do my leaf tips keep curling down

On both my first grow and now my second grow, about 5 weeks into Veg, my leaf tips starting curling down. Can anyone suggest why this may be happening? I thought on my last grow that I maybe over nuted them, so this grow I have only given them very little nutes. About half strength of earth juice grow every other watering. I am using Fox Farms Soil. My water PH is between 6.5 - 7.0. Temps around 78. Using T5's for veg and 400HPS for lower. Any suggestions? Will try and get pics if needed, but basically just the tips of the leaves point straight down.

Without pictures we are going to have to guess based on what description you have given. If there is no leaf discoloration and the tips and edges are droopy, that suggests to me that the plant is getting too much water. If nutes were the problem, you'd know it with leaf discoloration or burn.

Can you provide a couple of pics?

Here is a couple pics as requested.

I really try not to over water. I usually wait long enough that the plants tell me they need the water when they begin to sag. I have a water meter that I also use to monitor. I really dont think its overwatering, but I am not expert either. Its only my second grow.

I have posted same Q myself .. having a very similar problem but my are a more drastic turn down at the tips. I'm currently laying off the water but I haven't seen any changes so far. I would ignore the nutrient def as far as solutions, b/c I too have really laid off them almost to none at all, but this is still a problem I have. How is your humidity? airflow? height of lights? I think it may be over watering my self, but its weird b/c my leaves look great but the tips curl down hard... here is a link so u can see mine to compare against. Look at pic 2. I'm shocked I haven't seen a more definitive answer as to why this is happening.

yup, yours looks very similar to what I have going on. Hope someone can help. It happened on my first grow all the way through. Still had a decent yeild for a first timer, but would love to get this corrected.

That is exactly what is happenin to mine. I think they were gettin too much wind since it was a d.c brushless on low. im goin to try a timmer that wil start and stop the fans avery now and then. But i want to stay in d.c brushless cause i want to keep power compsuption to a minimal. using these i can save about 80% of the fan watts. ( my small appartment electric bill is getting doubtful ).
i give you an update with before and after pics next week when everything is set up and they will have time to heal.

you have " The Claw " . How close are your lights? Over watering may also be an issue. Look up The Claw in leaves for more info.

The problem was heat!!! if anyone sees severe curling at the "tips" it seems to be heat related, as soon as i corrected the temp problem, all tips are fine, the leaves that bent down stayed that way but all new growth is perfect

CLOSE! But a little misleading. If the top leaves have the claw, then its heat. :) If the entire plant has the claw, then its overwatering or excessive heat from the entire room not just the light above.

You're overwatering, but not by much. Let the plants sit for about 30% longer time-wise between watering. When you do water them, picture what the plant would look like if it was crushed into a jar. Whatever sized jar the plant would fill when crushed, is the amount of water you give to the plant. Your claws should start to fix themselves, but look more to new growth as the indicator that your doing well, some claws just stay claws for the duration of the cycle. Just always remember focus on new growth. :) Good luck!
