I am attempting to make this 400w MH Low Bay fixture into a remote ballast. The wiring seems to be pretty simple, but there may be a heat issue. The original wiring had the fiberglass insulated mogul socket wires passing through the heat sink area of the ballast. I would like to put an 8ft extension at this point, but I am not sure if regular 14 guage wire casing will be OK passing through the hole, and not melting. There is a little discolor in the area, possibly heat, but I'm not sure. If any one has any knowledge in this area would be greatly appreciated. +REP
