Hi Peace ALL

Your space is very large and will suit you well.

With a 400 watt HPS bulb you can comfortably grow 2-9 plants.

If this is your first grow, I recommend starting with 4 plants..

Yes keep the glass on your reflector.

Ideally you would split your room into 2 sections. 1 section for vegging (18-24 hours of light) and another section for FLOWERING (12 hours light 12 hours complete darkness)

You would also get a 1000 watt HPS bulb for flowering and ideally a 1000 watt bulb for vegging. With a 2 room 2000 watt set up, you could harvest 10-30 ounces every 4-6 weeks depending on your strain and expertise in growing.

of course you could do a simliar set up with more or less watts depending on your preference..

If you are only going to have 1 - 1000 wattt bulb, you should use it for flowering..

Exhaust and air flow are key... if you can't keep your room cool enough so that your light stays 5-15 inches from your plants.. then it is not even worth using HIDs..

Hi Peace,

There are some pictures floating around of an indoor plant that is surrounded by 14 - 100 watt envirolites (or similar brand) and a 1000 watt HPS bulb over head... This plant harvested 3.5 lbs..

ONE plant, indoors harvested 3.5 pounds.. WOW..

NOW.. side lighting can be incredible but it needs to me maticulously placed..

HID lights lose about 50% of there lumens(bud producing capabilities every 12 inches away from the foilage) Fluorescent bulbs, I would guess loose 50% of their bud producing power after 1 inch.

That being said, if you are going to use fluoprescents you need to keep them as close as possible to your foilage without touching your plants.
Then they will be worth your time and effort.

: )

Growing different strains is a pita (Pain in the ass for GardenKnowm:). Anyways Different strains grow differently. I cant remember but I have like 8 strains now. Im kinda experimenting on what I like and I will probably cut it back to 2-3 strains tops. Its nice to have flavors its just a lot to keep up with. Growing uniform is a lot easier.
