Dont know the kind you have but i have a 24/7 nutrient monitor made by cwp and it needs to be calibrated every now and again the cheap kind are cheap for a reason imo and I recommend calibrating them as well. They will and do drift.

If not I recommend getting some of the ph test strips to do use against the ph probe. If the probe reads 6.0 and the test strips show the proper color that is an easy way to see if your probe is on point.

I hope were talking about ph probes {i seen hotrod mention it} but ec meters should be calibrated or checked once a year I guess. I dont check my ec meter very often but the ph probe I check....Especially when I notice there has been a jump in my ph first thing I do is calibrate the probe or use test strips before BLINDLY going by the probe , jack up some plants doing that a few times.
Yup i just wonder about my EC meters , I have been working by ph probe over 8 yrs ,never have problem by calibrating 7-4 by the way .thnx again great information

Great advice with cross checking with PH drops or strips. With my BlueLab PH meter I calibrate it at least once a week, and leave it overnight in probe solution every couple weeks. That way it stays pretty accurate. With the BlueLab EC meter I clean it once in a while with a slightly acidic solution I make from water and PH down.
Actually I’m doin the same by ph drop .
But the bluelab need once a month calibrating and also i have prob sulotion and never let my ph prob dry .
I always use RO water as first and end of checking ec and ph prob with.
But avidic solution for Cleaning Ec prob is looking new to me
I just clean it easily by clean towel and put ph and ec prob in the box for don’t take any dust or light as well .
I think my concern is scale now
