I have three 6-7 week old babies. I'm getting a light fixture for them for xmas. Wat wattage would be good to use for a while? ( Trying to b frugal)lol. Also how old should they be when I can tell there sex? I keep checking but no luck yet. The leaves differ on two of them. Right now I'm using miracle grow with up to 6 mnths food. And ground up eggshell for calcium :). Pls help need to kno as soon as possible :) p.s as soon as I can figure it out ill put pics cuz I kno that should help. Thanks u!!!!

What are you trying to use the light for? Flower or veg? Also what type of lights t5's, LED, or HID. Really it all depends on your choice and your grow area.

Btw you tell a plants sex by flowering it (bloom cycle 12/12 lights on/off period) unless you have autos but 7 weeks an auto would have shown sex already.

Although there are ways to detect sex before flowering is induced. As a newbie, you should probably wait until they are in 12/12 just to be sure. Males tend to show faster than females. There is a ton of info on sexing on this forum. Feel free to read and study. The above questions need to be answered before being able to advise on lighting. Good Luck to you!

Sorry but that tells us nothing. How many plants? do you want cfl, regular fluoro, led, or HID? How many sq.ft do you have available?

Please do yourself a favor and read, study, plan, and act. You need to learn to walk before you can fly. There is a ton of great info in the stickies on this forum. As well as great videos on youtube. Once you have spent some time doing this you will be able to ask pertinent questions on your SUCCESSFUL grow. Here is a good place to start...

I can understand your frustration with this post kush, so please do not be offended by this my friend.

To OP, this is the type of answer you are likely to get by asking basic questions and being so vague when asked for details. Please take my earlier suggestion and read, study, plan, and act.

If you were a DR. and someone sent you a picture of a cancerous organ...could you tell them specifically what is wrong and how to fix it? Not likely huh? Seems to me you are not asking for a little help, but a total growing plan. We are here to help but we cannot grow your plants for you. I am sorry if this seems harsh, but you are really leaving me no choice.

sure those are 6-7 weeks? I use flurs, reg shop lights for veg, or you can use cfl's til they get a bit bigger, then you can add more lights, and/or more intense... but for now any lights that are 6500k color temp, blue.... daylight, natural shine...will do great for awhile until flowering time, then just pick up a few bulbs that are 2700k color temp, red,warm. Watch the video that was posted by bkbbudz...good information ;)

lol im listening to ur video and taking notes...ive grown up with the greenage but this is my first time by myself (shouldve listened to my parents huh? lol) i ty all for ur help :)

6-7 weeks? 6-7 weeks?? Holy Charlie Brown's Christmas tree Batman! I don't know why I did'nt put that together before, I guess I was too wrecked. WOW, you are really in need of learning more. I am really not trying to be a jackass. I would like to help you. You need to be a lot more specific in your questions, and the only way to do that is to read and learn as suggested. This plant is about 4 weeks from seed. It is in pretty much pure MG. I usually grow in much better soil, but due to XMAS I was not able to pay the $26.00 price this go around. Anyway, same medium as you are using. It is under nothing but 2 fluoro tubes, because I don't have room in my tent right now. Again, I am not trying to be a jerk or rub anything in your face. But this is how your girls could look if you had prepared to grow. Rather then just dropping some seeds in some dirt, watering them and starting to ask questions. I am no 'green thumb' professional. I have only been growing about 8 months, this is my 3rd grow.

Again, this is 4 weeks from seed. Nothing you can't do yourself, you just need to learn. If you are not put off by my replies and would like to send a friend request, I will accept it. I will be happy to help if I can. Most of the time I will likely redirect you to a site or post to read. Just telling you what to do will not help you. Happy Holidays.Picture 022.jpg

well ive read and watched videos im getting a 250 watt metal halide bulb in a couple days. my soil is 21.7.14 there looking a little better ty for the help i feel more like an idiot when i look at everyone elses babies :( lol but i figured it out and my plants are only 3 1/2 weeks old ... better than 6-7 ? lol

also im going to mix in sum perlite with my soil so they will b able to drain better. i am at the moment not adding any fertilizer . wat would b a good amount?

None fow a week or two if you just transplanted let her get going then just start off 1/4 what they recomend and work your way up as they grow, also when you give nutes start slow water then nutes then maybe two watering between then nutes again build it up then give water nutes water nutes
