That is hydroton, a media used for Hydro, yes they are supposed to retain water for the root system on your plants, it also provied a medium for your roots to grow through. Its is pretty much a staple when reffering to Hydro, so I would say your ok. Im using it ATM and dont see any problems.

Thanks for the reply , i put the clay pellets on top of the coco to just help hold the seedlings up after i took them out of the rapid rooter. I havent had much luck hear with advice so iv been searchn internet and i think im goin to get rid of the cocogrow and switch to the pellets the coco stays wet all the time and everything i read says coco is good for flood n waste not drain I appreciate any advice (Jeep Beep) u could give me or anyone else who has some experience with cocogro

Come on guys and gals cant anyone help me out here, the nearest hydro shop is 1hr away and i dont think he is that familiar with cococ
