hey guys. so like the title says these babies are about 3 weeks old the smaller ones' roots grew out the side of the cube so i think thats why they were stunted. the other three were looking nice until recently when they started lightening in color and browining on the tips. i read that this might be some kind of deficiency so im wondering if theyre ready for some super light feeding. let me know what you think

Need more info... but it looks like you might be cooking them. Are your lights too close. It doesn't matter where the roots are popping out of the cube.. they will find their way down to the res. Plants look a bit small... when did you start giving them nutes? Looks like they should still be on straight distilled H20 or R/O.
Good Luck... and check out my journal below... it may help.

hey yeah i kinda put that up in a hurry the root grew out the side when it was in a humidome and got slightly brown and shriveled. they have been on straight r/o about 11 ppm until today i added only 40 ppm of fox farms grow big for hydro (liquid) so the total ppm is about 52. the pH climbs but i adjust it to 5.7 or 5.8 and let it run to 6.2 before lowering it again. i just backed the lights off a couple inches to about 4 inches above the tops. they are pretty weak 4-foot length tube flouros that i have used for cloning but there are 6 of them. hopefully ill be putting some T5s over them on friday. how high should i hang those to start?

First, if that root is dead, then remove it. No sense for being there. I'd keep em on no nutes or just the little you added today and back the lights off a little n see what happens until you figure it out. (Try top feeding them some water if there roots arn't reaching yet)

You can go pretty close with T-5's... but i think a little room between the light and plant wont hurt.
Also, dont worry... These plants are like weeds... they will snap right back!

thanks skooot ill start a little high and lower them if need be. but these girls had an awesome reaction to that fox farms i added the other day. hell of new new growth and they are becoming darker green. just to recap that was about 40 or 45 ppm. ive given them two days now with the feeding and theyre loving it but how do i make sure im as close to the line between an ideal amount of nutes and too much as possible without going over? the new growth shows no signs of nute burn or deficiencies its beautiful. but i just feel like its not as healthy and green as it could be.
