HELP PLEASE. 110volt or 240v?

im getting a 600 watt hps setup magnetic ballast 240volt cord is available. do i need that? i got normal california outlet . whats 240 and 110 alla bout???????

You want the 110.

No it does not. Cost exactly the same. Power providers charge based on kilowatt hours, not amp draw. 5 amps x 110 volts = 550 watts 2.5 amps x 220 = 550 watts

I got mine from an old warehouse, you gotta open it up, i forget what colors the wires are, one is for 240 the other for 110. You might want to ask an electrician. Mine was easy, i knew it was wired for 240 i just hocked the spare one to get 110v.
