Ok, I've scanned 30 frikin forums all over the internet and am getting fifty different answers. All very interesting but DAMMMMMN! Am experimenting with 3 different methods of hash making using male plants. First will be the homemade version with cold water seperation method using blender. Am using a healthy 7 foot male plant just begining to flower. How should I prep leaves before starting this process. Do I cure them if so how. Do I freeze them? Should I just pluck them off my plant and start blending?

All feed back would be greatly appreciated. :):joint:

Throw them in with your ice and water. Thats it. Freezing them meaks the trichombs break off easier. You can do it right after they come off the plant. You should get about 10gr for every 100gr of plant

Kinda thought so but was good to have someone confirm it. However, we rolled one just for the hell of it last night and copped a fairly decent buzz. Was a real shocker as I had been told that male plants produced extremely low thc levels. Dont get me wrong, was nothing to write home home about
to be sure, but am having second thoughts bout hashing it out. Probably will.

Can you make hash with leaves from plants that haven't flowered yet that had to be chopped? Or do the leaves have to come from fully mature plants?

THC production happens in the stages of flowering (most at the end). Trichombs dont mean THC.

since the males have probably been taken away for the female to flower, i would assume ice water would not work for taking trichomes away as there are none, but thc extraction would work, im currently scanning forums too find a way to extract thc from males without alcohol and serious fire/explosion risk. any ideas? i heard you could do this in boiling water but not sure what to do?

I've used males for cannabutter with excellent results. You could also make a tincture using alcohol (no heat). I dry all my leaf matter before cooking, then crumble until medium-fine. Use a double boiler, clarify the butter, add the leaf matter, simmer for a few hours, strain (I use cheesecloth), and you're ready to make toast, brownies, baked potatoes, stir-fry, scrambled eggs, etc.

While I dont have experience making hash from males, I can't image getting too much end product from males. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the time and effort.

Good luck, whatever you do with those males!

You can use a silk screen or really fine steal string just roll the leaves over the screen and use powder that comes off!

Yes you can make hash from plants that have not flowered or reached maturity yet. males or whatever. But you cannot do it with the ice water method, ice water method is used for obtaining the crystals that you see on the outside of the plant. To get the THC from plants at an earlier age you have to do a chemical wash to get them. The most common chemical method is the butane honey oil method.
