Picked up a used DIY 155w vero 18 4000k setup today. I'm looking to replace my mars 300 to veg 1 plant

4 x Vero 18 4000k
4x arctic cooler heat sinks
4x fans (brand new) plus wiring and variable 12v psu
1x Meanwell HLG 120H C1050B driver (brand new in box)

For now, i want to re-frame it to veg 1 plant from seed in a 2'x2' area (half of a 2x4 tent), get the dimmer set up, and properly wire the 3 prong (colors on cord and driver input, do not match) a fuse would be nice.

Down the road (or sooner), i would like to convert it to passive cooling. Will the SST 120 cool this passively? And if so, can i mount the vero 18s directly to the SST or do i need a holder?

any help is appreciated

Mahalo!

Buy some passive heatsinks and some citizen 1212s and just use the driver it won't cost much an you will get more light

thanks, i will re-frame it and run it as is.

Isn't 155w already a lot of light to veg 1 plant in 2x2?

Any info on getting a dimmer or matching up the power wires?

I'm in over my head here. How would i run 1 or 2 of them? I think these are wired in parallel

I have a 3x3 with a 400w vero 29 g7 from timbergrowlights for flowering

I really am just wanting up upgrade my my veg game from the 140w mars300, was hoping i could dim these to 100w and get less heat than the mars

thanks for helping clueless rookie!

155w is a shitload for just vegging.
Especially with those new cobs.

Even for just flowering it's a load.

You could replace the Vero 18s with Gen 7 Vero 18s.

Would be +-120 watt of light with 4.

These 18s run at 34 volt. (also gen 7)

About 140 watt with 4.

Both should be able to flower it really well too.

Or only run 2 of them.
If you only want to veg, then anything above 100 watt is going to be overkill anyway. (especially with the newer gen cobs)

i know 155w of COB is too much, which is why i was wanting to dim them 30% or so down to 100w, is that not feasible?

of course, i have to get the dimmer first

Thanks for your help
