Hey everybody I'm new to growing and for my first time i've decided to go for power plant. I bought the seeds from dutch passion and they're feminised. I'm growing under a 400W lamp. Can anyone tell me please for how long i should keep it under an 18 hrs cycle before i switch to flowering please? i was thinking about 6 or maybe 7 weeks.

any help would be appreciated thanx

i at least wait till the secondary shoots are big enough to support a few good buds themselves.

you can put it into flower at anytime counting weeks isnt a very good way to judge it as each strain grows differently, people usualy do it by the height ,de[pending on your grow space (the plant can double or even tripple in height during flowering )so this can be a main factor on deciding when to start flowering .if height isnt a factor then you can judge it by when it starts growing staggerd nodes ,hope this helps

allrite thanx a lot guys i think i'm just gonna leave it until it reaches something like half the height of the grow room which is about 2 or 3 feet and then i'll switch to 12 hrs

I wouldn't let it get half the height of the grow room because the plant will put on an amazing amount of growth while in there.

I know its an old thread, but if you read this and are starting on PP here is some useful advice as I have done these for the past three grows.......Height is always a problem with these girls as they go ballistic and even when flowering at 10 inches tall they will reach 4 and a half feet tall, even with a shit load of lumens on them. topping works ok, but you lose the best flowering head. I bend them slowly and train them, but even then the side shoots take off and go HIGH. In short, on the height issue, if you are short on space/head room then do NOT grow these! You can try to flower really early, but they reward you by not showing signs of flowering for three weeks if they are too young, so get some clones if you can and they will show earlier. If using fem seeds then keep a real close eye on them for the first four weeks of flower as they will throw out little bunches of bananas (male flowers) at the internodes if they have hermie tendencies. Clip these off and they go to full female mode....Sounds like its not worth it with these....right?....WRONG!!...the yield (about 5 oz dry) per plant and the stone(oh man, the stone!!) makes these a treat to grow. Oh and you can throw the nutes at these babies (2.4 EC) and they do not burn. The stalks smell of pungent diesel fumes if you rub em and they ripen real quick, so dont worry if they flower late. Reports I have had back are that it was the best bit of green around for 3 years, and thats some feedback when we regularly have chronic, blueberry and haze.
PEACE, poosticks

I woud keep them under the 18 hour cycle for atleast 2 months, but your problem is you only have a 400w light, I would recomend atlest 2 1,000 watt hps in your situation, unless you have a light mover, then you could just use 1,000 watt, or you can try to grow some outdoors and keep 4 inside under the 400 watt, and makken them busy, I've never growen power plant but I've gown a lot of white widow. but I know in my case when i stated with a 400 watt was only with 4 plants under it at max unless they where clones. Let me know if ya need any lights i can get you a deal ona 1,000 mh/hps or a 600 watt one. :leaf:
