Hello fellow growers! thanks for stopping in.. I'm a fairly new gardener in all departments, but especially with my new hobby, hydroponics. This is my first attempt and everything has gone excellent until the other day when I started to get brown spots on my leaves. I origonally thought it to be Mag. def. but now have doubts, and feel it could be nute burn. I just got my TDS meter and my numbers were high so I flushed my system and reset my ppm's to 300. I haven't received my Ph meter yet so Im kinda flying blind right now on that end. ANYWAYS here is a picture, any thought are appreciated.

Hey simplysmoked, im no expert either but i also work with hydroponic vegetables. This may be of no use but it looks either like mg or zinc problem are you using cal-mag in your resevoir?
I recently just grew some hydroponic cayenne peppers and had a similar problem except i was in the opposite boat as u i had ph meter but no tds meter

Hey coolbreeze, thanks for the response. I too thought it to be a Mg def at first. I do not have any cal/mag so I used Epsom salt as read elsewhere. It really seemed to pick up the plant for a day or two but then it went back to its current condition. The leaves' stems are very brittle and easily snap off. Im still at a loss. Back to research

I would put in plain tap water until you get your PH meter. Thats not flying blind, thats nose diving blind hehe. Theres been many times i just didnt have the time to give my res the attention it needed and at that point i put straight tap in it for a few days, even a week or so at a time. Maybe the salt adjusted the PH of your water just enough to stabalize it for a few days, then it reverted right back. Could always go down to the local pet shop and buy a PH drop kit, only a few bucks. Good luck!
