Unfortunately, there's not much you can do with plants stretching in flower, other than try to tie them horizontally, while the stems are still bendy. Stretching is usually a result of the grow area being a bit too hot, but most plants stretch up to twice their final veg height when you put them into flower. It's just what the plant does.

I grow in a 6.5 ft. tall tent and the plants are a couple of feet off the floor, so I deal with height issues myself. I make sure that I don't put plants into flower that are taller than 1.5 ft tall, less if possible. That way, if they double their size in flower, that's still only 3-4 ft of height to deal with.

i do not think people count the container as part of the plant's height. So from soil to tip your plant is like 1.5' tall? I'd put it into flower immediately. It'll grow to 3 - 4.5' tall.

SCROG. There are tutorials all over this site and the 'net.

I'm doing my first SCROG now. I still have a week of veg to go before the screen goes over but I made a cool screen "table" using a child/pet gate and some scrap lumber to make legs for it.

keep the light close but not to close that your going to burn up your plants. stop feeding them nitregon during flower. only give it to them if they need it. they will tell you what they need. good luck

Also, you can use a MH during the first couple weeks of bloom, and that'll reduce stretch, a little. You could also go with smaller pots, like 3-5 gallon, and that'll knock another 6" off their heigth. Another thing you can do, is supercrop them about a week before they go into bloom. That would work the best, IMO. :)
