So I'm a newbie, and my clone has spider mites. I'm currently using neem oil to solve that problem. I think that I'm having more problems besides spider mites, and I dont know what it is. This is a picture of my leaves.100_2720.jpg100_2722.jpg100_2723.jpg I'm growing in a mixture of happyfrog, miracle grow, mexican bat guano, blood meal, vermiculite, and perlite. It's under a 400w hps, and I'm using tap water with a ph of 7.0. Can someone help me diagnose this tragedy please?

perlite ang vermiculite are not soil, which means that you need hydro fert. i think that it is as far as you can go with this mixture. IMO flush and feed hydro ferts at PH 5.8

Forget everything you have read and:

Get rid of the spider mites. It is useless to try and fix anything wrong with the plant until you address the obvious issue.

Spider mites are a big deal.

... it has miracle grow potting soil and happy frog soil.... the perlite and vermiculite are to lighten the mixture , so the soil is less compact, and the water drains better and to help aerate the roots I do believe, I don't see why that would make a difference?

Does that miracle grow have little green pellets in it? I remember picking those things out. Some sort of time released chemical nutes or some crap like that. If your mg had that then you mixed it with organic soil and organic ferts. That would seem to be too much IMHO.

...ignore that guy and listen to MYOB as he is right, you need to deal with the spider mites first, ...i'd suggest you mix up a solution of a few drops of dish washing detergent to a liter of water and then use it to thoroughly spray your plants down, and make sure you get the undersides of the leaves.

...soap acts like an acid on the shells of the mites so it will kill the adults but it won't kill the eggs so you'll need to reapply every few days until you do enough research to understand the spidermite life cycle, once you do you'll be able to figure out a way to interrupt that cycle and rid yourself of those pesky bastards.

HotShot NoPest strips work too but you need to know how to use them correctly or you'll be wasting your time.

...and btw, the fact that your soil has perlite and vermiculite in the mix does NOT make it hydro.

peace, bozo

tessifers, calm down, does'nt look that bad. Slight nitrogen deficiency is all I see, start introducing whatever nute line you are using at half strength and Ph at 6.2 -6.5 every other watering. As far as the mite's quarenteen {sp?} your girl and go over every inch from botton to top leaf by leaf and smash'em or go outside and find a praying mantis or some lady bug's. take a drive to a rural area if need be.i didn't see any mite's in your pic,and this bitch look's pretty healthy other than need'n some nitrogen. If you say you gotmite's then they don't appear to have a good foothold yet so destroy now or you in for a long insurgency that those motherfucker's will win.Other than all out chemical warfare or nuclear oblivion they will destroy you. be safe....be stealth... be well... hope this help's you out! sorry, I have PTMD (post traumatic mite disorder) don't mean to scare you too much with the mite rant!
