Plant leaves are very light green in color and feel like paper but the whole plant seems to be somewhat healthy none the less. Has anyone else had this problem? Cant recall the strain but I know its a kush. It's in a 3 gal. pot of 50/50 FFOF & FFHF and outdoors. FF Grow Big & Tiger Bloom nutes. Unless you've seen this before, or really know what this is, your help is greatly appreciated!! Im not saying that Im not willing to take "any" advice...just dont want to hear alot of opinions to where I end up doing more harm than good by trying everyones advice thinking one of them has to fix her up. Thanks in advance for responses. :bigjoint:

Pics aint so clear so your going to get a few coments lol. Clear closer pics would help ..... as it stands could be a few things.....
To me ..looks like THRIPS.
Thinning leaves could be the lavae... are the marks on the leaves like a mini snail has be there ? almost silver, and on closer inspection the "trails" are where the leaf thins ?
If it is THRIPS thats a bad infestation. More pics and other responses will help.
If thrips ...PEST OFF.... or go down the prediator route like I do... buy some....

I now can see tiny little bugs on the underside of leaves. Looking under micro they're clear in color and real tiny. What do thrips look like? Anyway, it's gotta be one of the two. Use amblyseius cucumeris for thrips? What is that and where can I buy some? If mites what do you recommend? Or will this stuff work on both problems? My wife has some houseplant & garden insect killer and it says it kills most harmful insects, but not limited to and thrips and mites are on the list. Will this stuff work?

Type "Thrips" into google images. or weed pests. You'll get your pics of thrips and mites to compare.
As to where and what to buy...... I have posted a link in my first reply to the amblyseius cucumeris.
Use ya microscope..... identify the bug.......... enter..... BUY "what you find it is" PREDATORs to google.

As for the spray.... identify the bug first. If spray says fine on edibles have a pop.
That is a bad infestation what ever you have, and I think you are NOT going to irradicate them totally. Due to plant damage your looking at further damage limitation. Regular spraying is a bad idea if this bad..... Hence predators... I buy 25,000 for about £14.

Sorry I am not trying to be a git with the use of GOOGLE I'm just trying to point out that using Google can get you your answers faster than a forum. And can also stop you getting confused if you recieve a number of responses. ( No this thread ;) )

FIRST THING IS IDENTIFY..... and pray it ain't spidermite.

Good luck and let us know what bug you think you have.

Well, I've seen pics. of what thrips look like and what they'll do and it looks like its them!! I'll spray some of the insect killer my wife has first, then see what happens. If I need to get something stronger I will. Thanks for all the help guys and hopefully I can save her. The weird thing is that other than the leaves changing color they still look healthy. No holes, browning or drying up, just loss of color. Hopefully I can stop it before it does.

Thrips

Thrips are really tiny, but can be seen by the naked eye. Some may have wings and some may not. Thrips reproduce rapidly, especially in tight places. That is what makes them hard to get rid of when using pesticides. The suck the sap right out of your plant with there piercing mouths, which makes the leaves look like they turned white. You can tell when you have thrips by taking a look at your leaves, the leaves will look as if there chlorophyll have been ripped right off the plant. Plants that are damaged can’t be healed thus making it harder for the plant to absorb light. SO if left untreated the thrips will kill the plants. Damage also can be seen by the greenish black specks of there poop they leave on leaves. Also the plants will show silver patchs from scar tissue. Depending on the severity at first, thrip damage might look like spider mite damage untill it increases in damage and then thrips case is for sure when you see the greenness replace with big parts of white.Thrips also can causes viruses to the plants and any larvae infected will breed more infected pests!. While they suck, the plants release honeydew which can contribute to mold on your plants. Adults have wings but do not fly well, but rather jump more. There are different kinds of Thrips, some more resistant to chemicals. Thrips can also carry plant pathogens in there mouths and carry it to other plants increasing the chance for your plants to get infected. . If your plants are affected during late flowering or close to harvest, please try to use the safest means of control to be safe to your health.

Control

One good way to repel thrips for those growing outside is to use garlic, this is a good way to keep them away before you get them. The color yellow attracts the thrips and should be advised not to have this color around your grow.. If you already have them using neem oil, and or lady bugs can get rid of them. If the infestation is bad then you need to use biological solution like, pyrethrin-like insecticides.

Other Products include:

Chemicals
Hot Pepper Wax,Safer Yard & Garden Insecticide (which can be used right to the day of harvest),GNATROL( used in hydro in the water as well as soil),Doc's Neem Pest Soap,Safer Sticky Stakes,TR-11000 Pyrethrum.

For some reason one of the pictures that originally showed up in my Thrips post does not seem to be visible now but it was of leaves with Thrips damage and the leaves in the picture looked like your leaves.

My girl has THRIPS!! She has "all" the symptoms little white bugs, loss of chlorophyll, black specks, silver patches. Well....looks like i'll put her in the infirmary and see if I can save her. Wife has insecticide which active ingredient is pyrethrin. So I give that a shot and see what happens. Thanks a bunch all! Peace
