Help! Failing miserably with 600w LED

Hi RIU -

I bought a 600w full spectrum led about 6 months ago. I first tried with girls in promix. leaves began to yellow and die regardless of ph'ing and proper nutes. Up'd the mg as recommended, still no relief. For 2nd try went back to what I know too well - dwc. Same issue occurring. Girls are about 24-27 inches from led. Could they still be too close to the light. Using 600w to flower after veggin under 400w MH. Is that possibly the issue - going from MH to LED. Please help - I am about to give up and sale the LED and Tent. Losing too many girls that would do awesome under HPS normally. I would like to save on utility bills but watching the girls go is depressing and so not worth it. I don't have these issues with MH/HPS....

don't know HOW close your light is but it indeed can be an issue with these.
plus why change from led to MH in flower??

peace

Went from 400w MH in Veg to 600w LED for Flowering. I'm thinking it gets too hot in the tent. Same issue using promix or dwc. ph is 6.5 and ppms under 700. Girls about 24-27 inches below the LED. I will try removing the tent I guess, otherwise its curtains for the pretty purples.

i see.my guess now would be to little nutes.if it is too hot you need to go with a higher ec + they are way too far away from the light imo.like 3-4 inches should be more than alright + let a fan blow the heat from the led away. and in hydro it should be a pH between 5.5 and 6.0 imo.

I have a thermometer hanging 6" below one of my cob leds. It's remote so I can see the temperature.

I really think it is a heat issue. I left the tent zipped during the light period on accident and when I opened it next day a lot of the leaves were fried. I am leaving the tent open at all times now and ensuring the room stays dark during lights out. Hopefully these girls aren't too terribly stressed now. I do run 5.9 in dwc and about 6.5 in promix for ph. I pulled all the burnt leaves off and will post pics in a few days. Thanks for all the help.

EC meaning higher ppm? I'm thinking its too HOT and I need to lose the tent. Also is it ok to go from a 400w MH veg to a 600W led flower. I'm reading that my 600w led is really just 300w as far as the plant is concerned...? I really would like to get this led thing down.
Thanks for your guidance Mowgli!!!

Please explain. What issue you think I have with growing? I am very well versed in dwc and still having the same issues as with promix that I am not so versed in. Only different thing here is the light and tent. I am looking for and appreciate all constructive criticism. Thanks.

and pics would help alot

First thing I would do is raise your lights. LED's don't damage plants due to heat but with intensity. A big watt LED light like that needs space and if too close will cause heat stress and worse dwarfism causing tight small leaf clusters at the nodes which take forever to grow out when they start out like that. The yellowing I'd looking into nutes/ph unless the leaves are warped and look like they're melting then it's definitely the lights being too close.

73 degrees when lights are on or off? I don't quite understand what you meant. Looks like you might be right thinking heat related issue. Leds run cooler but still get pretty warm. How much airflow through the tent?
