Well, this is my first time growing on my own. bongsmilieI have 4 beautiful babies, but I started 2 one week and 2 the next. My original two have stunted growth, and I believe it's due to the horrid soil I used for them. The youngest two are thriving, but I fear that they have a pH that is a little too high(very close to 7), so I have added some "GroTek pH DOWN". I really dont want to lose the first two, since none of my seeds were feminized I would hate to lose a female if I can help it. What should I do?? Can I transplant the first two into the same soil that the younger ones are in? Btw, they are around 6 weeks old now. (Will post pictures in the next few hours). Anyone who has any suggestions, please feel free. Seasoned growers especially :D Thanks!!

what kind of soil are the younger 2 in??

the growth is prolly stunted due to the plant being root bound (if the pot is a 1 gallon pot or less) or lack of nutes... i would guess its prolly a mix of both... transplant into at least a 3 gallon bucket.... use good soil.. make sure it has good aeration... and everything should be fine

also... start once transplanted feed them initaially with a 1/4 strength nute solution... that will be weak enough not to burn your plants but strong enough to start giving them nutes and getting them used to the nutes you have...

yes you can transplant them....... but what exactly are they in....and for future reference use plastic holders with the bottom cut out for easy take off or biodegradable pots. and its not that hard to find good soil........just go out and find a good field of plants and take some soil but fill up a liter bottle and add about 6 drops of hydrogen peroxide to it then water your plants to kill any diseases your plant might face.

The younger are in Scotts Moisture Control while the older are in some generic soil my bf bought. Any tips on a successful transplant?

I started them in organic peat moss cups and transplanted after 1 week. So, there should be no problem transplanting at their age now? I am eager for any knowledge :) Thanx!

wait until they are dry before you transplant.... BE VERY GENTLE when pulling the plant out of the pot its in... limit the light the roots are exposed too... 1/4 strength nute solution.. use something that limits transplant shock and promotes root growth... you can use any soil you want.. i prefer plain soil and adding my own perlite/vermiculte so i get the mix i want... plus if its plain soil you can control the nutes, whereas soil like miracle grow you cant.. your sorta at the mercy of the soil and how much nutes it releases which can ultimately (and usually does with new growers) lead to death of the plant...

also try to only transplant 1 time... go from starter cup to final growing pot... the less you have to transplant the less the plant will be stressed...

Re Root safe to add to the roots? I chose the Scotts cause nute wise, there wasnt alot to alter anything

yea... that should be fine to add... as long as it helps with transplant shock its fine... if it helps promote root growth also its a bonus... they will be fine without the shock stuff... but the shock stuff will help it adjust quicker and return to growing normally a lot faster....

the scotts nutes are fine if its all you can get... just start out at 1/4 strength and build up from there..

UPDATE!!!

The two babies are doing fantastic!!! They are growing MUCH faster, and seem to be very healthy. I applied the root growth hormone, and watered accordingly. They almost look better than my others! :) Will give them a few more days and post new pics!!!
