Hi all.

So im about to order some "accessories" for my next plants which will be a mix of autos and photoperiods and iv put a ec meter, ph soil meter and temp/humidity meter in my cart. Is there anything else I should fulfill the order with? Is a fertility meter a "must-have" or no? What more should I have in hand to have a complete set of these meters and accessories for growing these plants in my closet :p

Autos are a joke. A blue lab combo meter will do everything you need, ph,ppm,ec,temp
Yeah yeah but I'll need some other stuff for the photoperiod flowers later on. I just want to get rid of these auto seeds I have and start a little more serious growing. Then I'll need some meters :p

Just some thoughts:..

-Nice measuring spoons. Freebie at the shops.
-Nice scissors.
-Non Contact IR thermometer.
-Plant ID tags.
-Mister Bottle.
-Stakes and twist ties.

So on and so forth..

Autos are not too bad if you are starting with nothing. You can veg some photo period seeds and grow bud at the same time.

I already have an auto in floworing stage for a month now. She's like a tryout, I'm learning on this one and came up on some problems. I think the ph is to high since i tried to only use tap water, no distilled or RO water, so I see that I need meters and stuff if I'm going to grow more plants.

I was there 4 yrs ago. I wish that I could go back in time and give myself some tips. I spent a few grand on hydro gear and tents. I dont use any of it now and I really wish that I would have spent the money on something better. I use a living organic soil, more than just supersoil. If your interested, I hang out in the organic section. There are other guys that are more knowledgeable than me. I am talking "water only" soil and you only have to let it age for a couple of months. Trust me, not as complicated as bottle fert in soil. I traveled that road and got beat up pretty good.
RO water should be high on your list. I have a $200 meter that I dont use anymore because I dont need it with organic. I really think that hydro, to a point, is a sales gimmik for the stores to take your money. It will turn into a never ending equipment list.
I have 3xMega gardens for veg, 2x flood tables, 3x tents, clay pellets everywhere, 2x clone machines, a $400 water chiller ect... I dont use any of it now! My hydro shop made some grip off of me!

Auto's do not have a flowering stage that is dependent on light cycle changes, I run 20/4 with autos , You could still throw a few photos in there if you had them. I got my ppm and my ph meters off of ebay for about 9 bucks each and they worked fine , they both came with calibration liquids and were right on and they still are. Distilled water is the best for your plants if you can afford it, I cant but my water is awesome at 65 ppm so unless it warrants it I dont buy it, You could make a little still and make your own, it is cheap to do.

Im with Mustangstudfarm...

I did damn near the same thing he did and will never look back!!

Forget about those meters and bottles and keep it simple!! Some of my soil is over two years old and going strong!! I recently mixed up another 100 gallons worth that have the second round in them. I use water straight out of the tap and add nothing to it!

Example: Platinum Bubba Day 10 and 43.25 inches tall. Second plant in this 18 gallon tub. Gets 1 gallon of tap water every 5-8 days.

When I moved into my house, the VA treated my well water with floride. Also, my PPM were around 450. I got a RO water filter and use it for everything like drinking and cooking, I even give it to my dogs! They are getting spoiled to it also.... Forgot, fish tank!

My tap is 180ish ppm and smells like chlorine.... Lol... It also has floride in it. I tried letting it sit out for a day or two and had yellowing issues which was weird!!!

So how organic do you go? Do you use nutrients and all that other sh** or just water and only water ?
