HELP! Bottom leaves turning yellow

still my first grow and the leaves are turning yellow at the bottom and soon they will die, this has happened before and the plant still progressed to this stage and i have a feeling its going so do the same but im worried that this is causing stress to the plant, i have a few theories to why its happening, N-defficiancy, heat problems (had halogen bulb close enough to the bottom lights, swapped it out just there for a cfl so no need to give out about having a halogen haha), my soil is taken from a flower bed as a temp soil (might not be getting proper nutes) cus my previous soil got infested cus i added a bit from a pot that was outside :s have no money to really invest in it but shortly going to buy a full cfl set for my first few plants, also i have some led's i got from ikea and i dont expect much from them but i was given out to on my first post about not enough light, also the leaves on top on the serated parts it looks weird not sure if its cus i need to move my light higher or some other problem with this grow :s

Sound like you are clocking up way too many noobie mistakes, a bag of Fox Farm ocean forest potting mix at best is $5-$10, 4x 23w, cfls $10, if you want grass you need to invest in this shit, any other noobie way is just trash, your plant is stretched to fuck, so get some FFOF fill the pot to the rim, water well and place under 3-4 cfls, ensure 2 are 2700k and the other 2 at 6500k.... study like mad

ghetto blaster tut looks sweet but i have a whole section in my wardrobe that im using with a shelf that i have the light on to move up through the growth, just need beter lights and soil and the fan i can borrow one from my friends old air hockey table, links to cheap light sights and grow equipment (maybe a tent) would be greatly appreciated

Cfl lights are cheap and you won't find them cheaper than at your local hardware/grocery store due to shipping cost. Vostok gave you some good advice IMO.
4x23w cfls is on the low side of what you should aim for in my opinion.

You mentioned comments had been made about the lighting. What lighting do you currently have?

i have two 11w ikea cfl's atm 220-240v not sure on the lumens and some led lights 1.25w each strip and i have 4 of them on the brightest white

Are you feeding it? Your yellowing comes from lack of N which is crucial to veg growth.

The above comments about your bulb and soil etc is still good points to keep in mind.

whatsup with the LED strips??? LMAO.... you need at least 100 true watts of CFL to grow one plants and 50 for each additional

look up the GO Box on amazon ...........that and 1 ml and 3 ml pipettes................order like 100 of each to mix feed (whole thing run yah 50 bucks plus shipping)

it is a organic feed so it will feed the microbos in the soil so u do not need to worry about PHing the soil or the water they do it for u ..........the only thing u have to do is make sure your water is clean

if u are city water ........fill up a tub full of hot water and leave it there to sit untill it turns cold.........after that jug it up (when i say jugs i mean water or juice jugs not milk ........milk jugs can not be cleanned not even with bleach the water that sits in milk jug will turn foul....i tried bleach and one step cleaner no go)

the box has a plan on the side of it to fallow ...........under cfls i was able to pull a OZ of a plant using this feed system (under HID light i got 4 oz a plant same strain same feed)

ikr haha i use them for when smoking cus it cycles through colours changing the colour of the smoke, yeah ino im trying to get cfl's now gonna check my local hardware and see what their prices are and compare it to some stuff online

Haven't read it all, but lights and nutes aside, there are a couple things to note about the plant.

Generally, yellowing on the lower leaves would refer to a nitrogen deficiency. If you haven't read about mobile and immobile elements/nutrients, then definitely read up; mobile elements can move from older growth (generally lower leaves) to the newer growth to help the newest tissue stay healthy. Immobile elements cannot move from older growth to the newer tissue, so those deficiencies show up at the top. Nitrogen is a mobile element, so it shows up on the bottom first.

BUT, I don't think that that's a deficiency, per say. I'm willing to bet that you've had a couple newbie mistakes plaguing you that are causing really slow growth, and those leaves have simply lived out their life span before the top has had a chance to really shoot up.

I would look into things like water schedule, and your environment. How your temps are, how your light is, humidity, air quality, etc..

I suffered from slow growth my first run but the end results were still more than acceptable. So mine wasn't the worst out here, its surprising how long these little seedlings can survive without growing. But like others said, I would invest a little cash at least in lights or something to help your environment out.
