Help! Ak-48 White Rhino

Hey guys, This is going to be my first grow and i have been reading this site and many others for a month or more now and am extremely confident i have what it takes to be a half way decent grower.

My question is, I am torn between AK-48 and White Rhino, i was wondering if anyone has grown either of these and can tell me what they got for Dry YIELD after drying,

I am only going to be growing 4 plants under a 400w hps and will be vegging for 5 weeks, I am mainly looking for yield here, Anyone?

Get bagseed, save your money.

not cool LA9...but sort of right....lol Like he said i wouldnt spend big bucks on seeds for my first grow. try a bagseed ors omething and will really give you a good idea on th yilds and such..blah blah blahh..,most poeple strive for the 1g/watt but most end up somewhere near .5g/watt. hope that helps

It's not so much the plants that determine yield. Don't get me wrong, in the exact same setup, different strains will yield differently, but getting AK 47 doesn't mean you will yield xxx ounces per plant.

Lot's of things determine how much you get out of it, also quality. A good gauge (like aHIGHrussian said) is grams per watt. Like said 1.0 grams per watt is very desirable. 0.5 g/w would be a good target for your first grow.

And if you really want to spend money on seeds to start, go ahead man, it's your money. I've dropped a lot on my first set-up, but I've also read a lot to make sure it's not all a waste.

Not cool ????? Do I go around looking for people to bash on ? Of course not. The answer is based on his other threads and responses.

I know what it takes to grow and it is my definite opinion he is not ready yet. Sorry if that upsets you but I'm trying to save the guy money. Not that it matters, he is going to do what he wants anyway and it doesn't matter what anyone's opinion is. Unfortunately he has set himself up for failure and no one here can help him.

That is my opinion, you may disagree if you wish, you're allowed.

vegging for 5 weeks is a start to get a good yeild but i wouldnt set your sights on a massive yeild first time out just concentrate on getting the technique down and your pretty much guaranteed to see better results with each grow. white rhino is stronger imho than ak48 but both are hard hitters

Thanks a lot man, much more helpful than La9 up there, i have been reading other threads and have seen a few first time growers come out with some VERY VERY nice results, between what i have read and this forum i think ill be just fine, im also gonna start a grow journal so i can post pictures if help is needed and also for second opinions,

Ive been seeing a lot of first time growers start out with bagseed, which bank would i go to to get it

bagseed = seed you find in the bag of weed your dealer sold you

i haven't had a seed in a bag in years.

if ya aint got bagseeds id start off with the cheapest seeds you can or if your ina a state where medical mj is OK id try n get hold of a cutting from a med dispensery. just had a quick look at attitude man and the cheapest seem to be about $27.50 for 5 beans quite a good selection, and if ya go with a fem theres a chance shell go to seed if you let them flower for over the 9 weeks

Mate you just go for it.. Sounds like you are ready to have crack, plant and it will grow.

From what I've read, the White Rhino yields slightly more and is a slightly squattier plant. Never had any experience growing either of those two strains, but I may soon change that. I think you've chosen two kick ass strains to start with, and would definitely encourage you to get good genetics right from the start. Sounds like you've done some reading on the different strains and think you're headed in the right direction. Good luck.

I got about a ounce of herb from my first bagseed grow. I harvested 2 weeks too early. I tossed a lot of undeveloped budlets away. Now that I'm growing ak48...I will do a multi-stage harvest and learn a bit of patience as the genetics are far superior to the ditchweed seeds i learned on.

I'm at the end of week 4 flower on a lone ak 48. I topped her to get four colas. 2 are big, 1 is only slightly behind...the fourth is a good 6" shorter. It looks like I should pull 2 ounces dry off of her...but we'll see.

I LOVE the tightness of the buds i see on ak48. It doesn't stay "hairy" for long...the hairs started curling back into the bud pretty quickly.

Anyhoot mine is kinda bushy and about 2.5-3' tall. It has stopped growing vertically but rocketed in the first few weeks of flower. Now the buds are swelling and getting tighter. I'm excited!

sounds like the pheno of AK that i got, lovely smoke, finishes fast, ill probably grow it again when ive got some space in my cycle
