Because you are in the UK the law will be on your side. The landlord/lady is not allowed to enter without giving you notice in writing, They are certainly not allowed to evict you without notice, and cannot keep your stuff, that is theft. The grow stuff found cannot now be admissible as evidence. Go see a lawyer and get him to write letter claiming damages, she is actually in more trouble than you are, she has broken more serious laws than you and stands to lose a lot more than you. Any claim made officially would be in her interest to pay, if she went to court she could lose her right to rent property, be charged with breaking and entry and theft. A lawyer would give you good free advice as to how best to proceed.

Renters that grow, make my head hurt. Landlord is within their rights to evict.
People like YOU make MY head hurt.

So now we all gotta own a house in order to grow? I don't know if you noticed the economy is fucked and renting is now far more prevalent than owning property, lots of people simply can't afford a mortgage these days.

Let me take a wild guess. You live in a legal state and/or have a med card, right? And you like to shove that down people's throats to no doubt. Smug git.

OP

What happened man, your landlord came to your property and let herself in when you weren't there with no notice or anything?

Yeah, you're right guys. I'm just a stupid home owner. But at least I can read a lease.

Every state and country has different laws regarding tenant rights. Stop offering bad advice.

Lease1

Lease 2

I'm not judging people because they are renters. I have issue with tenants that think they can do what they want and they are protected.

If it's your house, burn it to the ground if you want. But landlords have rights too. When it's not your property, leave it the way you found it, not like this...

UK Laws are different to the example given above. However I agree that you should treat rented property the same way as you would treat your own. You tend to find situations like the example given is usually in cases where organised groups are out for a quick buck, and yes this is despicable. But I also hate landlords that believe they can encroach on your privacy when charging rip off rents and then take advantage of the situation. They, not you are in a position of responsibility and should follow the correct procedures and laws. Growing may be illegal in the UK but if you are doing no harm to anyone or their property then landlords have no rights to invade your privacy and evict you without following the correct procedures and laws.

That's what contracts are in place to do. Protect the rights of all parties. This thread has repeated so many times on RIU. I post the leases and everyone goes, oh shit, and checks their paperwork. My head hurts because I choose to inform a few at the cost of being the bad guy. Lol, I don't rent my homes, they're all full of pot. Peace.

Yeah I know what your saying. Of course the owner of the house should be protected and that's what the contract is there for. But just because you rent your house doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't grow. As long as you respect the property and keep things super organised, non incriminating and stealth, why not?. I mean if it were me, I wouldn't be leaving any trace of my growing at all. tents ,light etc would all be hidden very very well, there would be no leaves or stems ,or roaches or anything lying around. Thats how I do it, I grow in a closet and you wouldn't know I grew weed unless you were in my bedroom to hear the fan going in the closet. I, like many others haven't a hope in hell of getting a mortgage for the next 10 years at least, so I grow in my rented house. If I ever did get caught I wouldn't cry about it but I do my best every day to make sure that doesn't happen. Sorry for callin ya smug, touched a nerve a little. felt like you were patronising people based on how well off they are.

you are the one giving out bad advice...this guy is in UK and tenancy agreements state that a 24hr period of noticce must be given b4 a landlords visit....it is usually given a month in advance, disgusting photos of badly ventilated ops implying that this is what renters do is not representative of responsible UK growers

Hey man, quit bitching. Some of those plants still look smokable. Just cut away the burned parts.

If she was going to call the police she would have just done it - not said "I'm going to"
People don't warn you if they're going to do something like that - they just get on with it. Just try and get your stuff out and crack on elsewhere after a period of doing nothing...just in case...
