Hi Guys,

First off, thank you for your help. I am in week 7 of flower (45 days) on my first ever run and I want to know when I should start to flush my plants and harvest them. First off, I got the clone from Cloneville in Studio City, Ca. The clone they gave me was supposedly Sour Diesel but it smells more like an OG kush. Anyway, 6 weeks and 3 days have passed and this morning I brought out my trichome stick and checked the color. About 35% of the tri's were milky while the approx remaining 65% were clear. My questions to you are simple and easy.

Question #1: When should I start to flush these plants? My plan was to start flushing them on Sunday (7 weeks of flowering) and the plan was to flush them for 2 weeks with water. This would be a total of 9 weeks in flower. Should i flush now and pluck in two weeks (8 1/2 weeks in flower) or stick with my original plan which was above?

Question #2: How do I know when the nugs are ready for harvest? Should I pick when 60% of the tri's are amber color?

I harvest when the calyxes have swollen and the hairs (stigmas) have receeded into the calyxes. Counting trichs is not an efficient and reliable method imo, different strains colour at different times so it's hard to apply a standard to this method (again, in my opinion). Fat calyxes, stigmas receeded = all good. Good luck.

it depends on the strain, you have to look at all the signs, and try to make a decision based on that. are the trichs at least mostly cloudy? has the plant gone through it's swell? (the last ditch burst of growth, when the plant knows its close to the end, and puts on a burst of new pistil growth) have those pistils receded? and whats the overall health of the plant?...it all adds up.
