Hello total new guy here.

Hello, MMJ Patient here.. I have been lurking the forums for awhile and now just decided to start an account. I have found a lot of useful information. Part of the reason I never started an account was because most of my questions have been answered due to searching and reading. "what you go to weed college?!"
My goal is to become a reputable grower here in southern cali.

Setup:400w hps/mh
6" vortex fan
FF soil and Nutes
IKEA Wardrobe Cabinet 2wx4Lx6h

Through trial and error I was able to successfully harvest my first crop, strain was Grapefruit Kush. It was premature..waaaaay premature, harvested 23 days into flower, it was a newb thing to do, I freaked out because I saw spider mites so I chopped her down. Yielded 1oz dry, she was in vegfor three months, I also supercropped. Anyway the batch was okay, lesson learned.

This is now my second grow I have a Blue Dream and Pineapple Kush each in a 12'" containers
I have LST'd both plants, I also did some supercropping to both plants and also FIM Technique on the Blue Dream. Both plants have had 36 days of Veg and are into 34th day of flower.

Once again, I am a total noob..second legit grow. Any advice or input would be appreciated!

I am thinking of picking up another light 600 or 1000 watt and a tent to use, trying to get my cycle right so I can yield once a month with the LST technique. I am very happy with this technique and may stick to it for another few crops. Thanks for the info and reading!

Pics soon

Any reason you chose those two strains to grow together? One is a sativa and will grow about 6' tall and the other is indica and will grow about 5' tall. If you want an even canopy - and you should - this could be a problem. You'll need to do some serious topping, bending, etc.

I'm growing a Blue Dream plant on my balcony in a 5 gallon clay pot. It's 4 months old and 6' tall. I'll probably harvest it in 3 weeks.

it thrills me to no end to see a newb get so much out of browsing the forums. just seeing you talk about your setup and lsting and supercropping makes me jealous of how much faster you will mature as a grower than i did/am. having a second chamber is what you need to make a perpetual, and if you can afford/support the 1000w go for it. i don't really know what kind of advice you are seeking. you'll have to get specific because it sounds like you know what you're doing. i would just reccomend as large a pot as you can fit and as long a veg as you can afford. don't know too much about your strains though.

Determine harvest time by getting a 30X light scope and watching your trichomes mature.
At 30X they look like little water towers made up of clear liquid. If you don't use enough
magnification the 'chomes look like a sprinkling of dust. Clear means immature. As they do
mature the clear liquid will start to appear as off-white, then milky until they start to go dark.
Harvest time!

Good luck, BigSteve.

Here is the address to my pics,

sorry been having probs with my pics.
Anyway i grow both indica and sativa so I have a variety and don't get burned out on one strain. Thanks again for looking and let me know if the url does'nt work.

I am the type to do research first then dive way into the project. I plan to become a master grower and breed my own strains...one day..so until then its learning by just doing it.

The reason why i lst and supercrop is because lack of space, i know sativas grow twice as big so I had it in mind before i started my project.

Thanks big steve, I picked up a magnifying glass 60x alsomy trichomes are turning milky on my pineapple kush and the blue dreams are still clear. I stopped giving nutes to the pineapple kush and just feeding water.

Mites attacked but I controlled the population with neem oil and some stuff called azamax and my ladies seem to be doing good

Plants look a bit spindly, you need more light.

Thank you, I will take into consideration..actually I might just revamp everything (grow tent, cycles etc) again since I am shopping for a more powerful light and want to grow as many as the state law allows..
