Hiya everyone, Ive been a smoker in the uk for nearly 20 years now, I dont smoke much, probably a quarter ounce perhaps one weekend every month or two, but after struggling for far long to find reliable sources to buy from, not get sold low weights from, be able to buy in bulk from etc etc, Ive decided to take the leap and try to grow my own.

My operation needs to be small and very stealthy, as I live in a rented apartment, but i do have a spare room, and my two neighbours live on different floors and arent nosey at all. Whats more, my landlord never ever shows his face. So after reading some online at the growweedeasy website, and finding this forum, im thinking of a 1-2 ounce crop of 1 or 2 plants, using CFL lights and a grow tent. Like I said I dont smoke a hell of a lot, it will be strictly for personal use, and i want to be able to yield decent quality bud as quick as possible with as little notice and trouble as possible. Whats more is as I work from home I will have constant access to the plants if this should benefit my growing process in any way.

So Im coming here to ask for help and advice regarding my growing setup, as Im a complete newbie. Any suggestions or alterations people wanna give with rergards to what Im looking to achieve would be thoroughly appreciated feel free to link me to threads on here that may help too.

Thanks a lot folks :)

Welcome to the nut house.

I personally don't use a tent, but will throw out a couple of ideas. You need a carbon filter by the time you get to flower stage. CFLs will work better on short plants BC of par . I use some CFLs with some LEDs and have good results ( the LEDs are the screw in type 18w with the defuser and baffle removed ) , I also have a 600w hid .

So do you want to use dirt or hydro?
You'll need nutes, pH meter, TDS meter, fans ..........

Good luck ,I grow my own for the same reasons as you.

What he said+:
Try and get a hold of short flower time and size crops like grape ape or green crack both are scopeable around 56 days of flower, I have pulled them at 54 days and 70, I liked them better at 70 but depends on what effect you are going for.

1-2 plants can run in 3x3x5 or 6 real easy.

Ventilation and airflow are important.

Great beginner friendly nute is maxibloom, works in everything, same dose across the cycle minus any pk boosters you might want to stack.

Get experience and move into nute, medium you wish.

Best smells and flavors are organics but can be a pain in the arse to a beginner.

Clones are ideal for saving time and getting into good genetics with less hassle of the 'what sex is my plant's' posts.

Seeds are good too but that Introduces variable's into the mix.

A lot of experienced people here wanting to help, some old, some new.
