Heating Cable

So, has anyone used under floor heating cable to warm their heating space?

A proper designed installation of heating cable might be a viable option for some?

Glue it to some polystyrene panel, glue over the reflective material type idea....?

I install in floor heat. In floor heat works of the principal of ambient heating. Which simply in the concept of, if you heat an object it will warm the air and other objects around it. Unlike forced air, which heats the air and the blows it around to heat everything around the air, not as efficient since moving air has a cooling effect. Covering the element with polystyrene would do nothing productive. You have to inbed the heating element in a mortar bed and then cover it with flooring. Imo tile is the best flooring for underfloor heat, it conducts heat better, thats why its cold in the morning and in winter and with underfloor heat, it warms very quickly, warming the room quicker. Otherfloors will work over a heated floor but not nearly as well. You want a flooring material with bad insulating characteristics because bad insulators are good heat conductors. Get it? :)

I think you are talking about heating material with mass, expensive way to heat, especially if your floor does not have proper insulation, cause then your heating your entire concrete floor etc

The poly panel is for insulation purposes, and the trace wire will be on the inside of your grow room, so it will work, as heat cannot go the other way.

I too use to install them, being an ex-electrician.
