heaters for closet grows

Do any of you run heaters at night in your grow rooms? Its getting cold and the temp in my room is dropping to 65 at night and full winter hasn't even set in here in upstate ny. Whats too cold at night for effective growth? I know i'm going to need a heater before long, I'm just worried about the house catching on fire.

What brand/models would you recommend?

Very few growers use or need a heater, especially if they grow and sleep in the same room. Most growers have the opposite problem, too HOT.
65 at night is OK. Your LIGHTS will make some heat.

I use an electric, oil-filled radiator w/ thermostat. Because the heating element isn't in direct contact with the air it does a very good job of preserving moisture.

Oil-Fill Radiator Heater with Timer

I use a digital Honeywell but this gives you an idea. Make sure the one you get comes with a thermostat.

FYI if you are flowering and use a standard heater that glows, its going to let light in the dark cycle, assuming you run with the lights off

the oil filled radiator heater would be ideal if you plan to run in complete darkness, i have one, not used for growing and it works amazingly
