It is 110 again, already lost 1 plant. What can I do to keep plants cooler outside? Any help appreciated.

if the plant is in a pot then id say 5 gallon minimum. If it is in a 5Gal I would wrap the outside of the pot with something like burlap or anything that will take the direct sun off the side of the pot assuming its a black nursery pot. Next water morning and night, most likely your soil mix is being cooked and the amount of heat in that pot most likely reaches 120* and dry's up, so more moisture will help keep it cooler. if you want to take it a step further put it in a shadier spot or get a shade screen to help shade some of the hot beating sun.

Novice grower here. Its going to be in the 100's for the next ten days or so and I still have about six plants to get outside. Should I wait to put them out so I don't shock them too bad? The dozen or so I have out now are doing great, but they were put out when the temps were in the low 80's. Thanks for the help.

Try smartpots....theyre fabric so they dont get hot like the plastic pots and theyre porous so they aerate better. (More air=less heat)

Like the guys above me said your soil/roots are getting cooked...you might have to water like once a day w/smartpots in that heat but your roots wont cook in between

I use 5gal smartpots and have them in direct sun for 10 hours (Cali 90 degrees right now) i only water every 4-5 days and my pots never get hot to the touch like ever

keep em hydrated, that is why I like holes in the ground as opposed to pots...where do you guys live? texas,zona?....If it is in a pot ..move to a shaded area in the mid day sun and spray em down and give a good soak.

In a pot or in the ground use a mulch and it will help keep cooler and retain moisture. I water my plants twice a day until flower anyway. keepem green dirrtyd

I would say put them outside and keep them in the shade. let them get used to the heat for a few days and then work them out during less intense parts of the day such as morning sun like 7-9am and then work them out again from like 4-6. you don't want blazing 12-3 sun on them for at least a week after coming out of the house.
