Heat Issues - Questions on how to solve them

Hey everyone, this is my first grow ever and I'm currently running a 400w MH at 50% and I have a feeling temperatures are going to become even more of a problem than they already are. In my 2x2x4 tent, the temp hovers around 82-86f, and that's with the light only at 200w.

So, I've been considering solutions:
1. The only exhaust I have is 1 4in inline fan at the top back of the tent, and a passive 6" intake at the bottom. I also have two clip on fans pointing towards the plants. I was thinking about adding a 6" inline fan at the bottom, but would that (help) fix my temp problem?

2. Switch to LED, but I have ZERO info on LED. I'm only growing 3 plants, what type of wattage would I need for that if I went with LED?

Thanks for any help, tips, tricks, answers, you name it!

is your light fixture closed? can you attach exhaust to it?
No, unfortunately I currently only have an open hood. I was looking into Air Cooled hoods last night, but I'm worried one won't fit with exhaust attached since my tent is so small.

just check the dimensions you need a closed hood

first grows in a new growroom are a constant work in progress throughout

Okay, I'm going to look around some more and try to find one that will fit.

I really appreciate your help and time!

I had this problem with a 4X4 tent and 1000W lamp. Hooking up an exhaust fan with variable speed controller should allow you to tweak the temperature easily; it worked brilliantly for me.

I have an open wing light in my tent. Just removing the air that is sitting in the tent will go a long way to solving your problem. The cool tube style lights will allow your plants to sit closer to the light but, if that's not your issue, then just a simple exhaust fan will help quite a bit.

Remove air from tent at a higher rate and exhaust it into another room or space. If you are exhausting into same room as tent you are just going to heat up that room over time.

Cool tubes are an option as well.

I have a small tent and exhaust with a 465cfm fan directly into my attic because summer temps here are too harsh
