Heat Difference of hps lights

I have the possibility of buying either a 250 watt hps or a 400 watt hps. I plan on having (2) 85 cfm 12 volt fans. my area is about (LxWxH) 2'x2'x4' feet. would the 400 watt be an overkill for the space.

4 feet will be tight for a 250
i guess you could do it if you topp your plants

If you had more height I would say get the 400, but damn thats a pretty small space you got. stay with the 250 for now, it will be cheaper, stealthier and easier. results will not be as good, but will be good enough.

what if i get a cool tube for my 250 or 400. i plan on doing a no veg- clone sog style type grow

ive seen some excellent grows with 250w's, and imo your space is waaaaay too small for 400w.

i guess i would agree also. i will be doing a perpetual sog.
i will probably use some cfls over the smaller plants and situate the hps over the older ones that need more light. do you think i need a cool tube?
