Heat Control Idea for Grow Boxes using CFLs...Will +Rep

Hello everyone...I had an idea to control the heat coming off of your lights. I thought that maybe if I put a couple sheets of plexiglass between my light holder and my plants, that the dead air space in between would insulate the plants from the heat, therefore only getting the room temperature coming off of the fans. I attached a diagram... The height of the plexiglass dead air would adjust with the height of the ballast that holds the CFLs.

You guys think it could work? There would probably be some sort of foam or rubbing tubing going around the plexiglass to ensure that the air was sealed. Thoughts?

It MIGHT work...but you should have a fan blowing on the bulbs to carry the heat away

you don't need the dead air space. just run air to the lights. that will keep the heat from building up in the box.
