Hey guys, just signed up, I have been looking for guidance, comments, opinions. But haven't had any luck any where!

Setup;

Lights;

-Been going @ 24/0 light, 70-76deg, 35-41%RH
-Watering with nothing but distilled water.
-Soil; left over from a giant outdoor garden plant after transplant, no fertilizer in the soil.

Right now, I'm about 6 days into grow from sprout. Just wondering tonight how my little guys are doing, been worried all day at work.

Plant A-
(Sprouted first, turning purplish?)

Plant B-
(Late sprout, been a little scared to grow, also has three leaves after sprout)

Let me know how you guys feel about them!

Upgrade to RubberMaid; Part 1.

After picking up foil tape, I went ape shit upgrading the Rubbermaid.

Upgrade to Rubbermaid; Part 2.

More upgrading to the Rubbermaid

I came across a brand new Rain Gutter Extension in the shed. I set both my fans to outtake; Cut a opening on the side of the Rubbermaid, and stuck that sucker in there! It can stretch to about 6ft long, and it can bend any way i want, and stays!!

It works amazingly well, It's pulling lots of air in; which guaranteed my foil taping job a success for air tightness.

Grow Prgoress

So, today is day number 10 for plant "A"now, proudly named "Maya".
Still continuing to turn purple; but, looks healthy.

And day 9 for plant "B" now, also named "Tron"
Going strong, day by day. The color green coming out of the center is AMAZING, I did no color editing what so ever, it almost looks to be glowing.

Hopefully more to come!

Day 18 of Maya's Grow

These weird colors are starting to make me concerned...

Day 17 of Tron's Grow

As before, I stated that a leaf fell off... This little guy is looking all F**ked up...

Let me know what you guys think... I have searched all over the web for reasons to the coloring of the leaves... No luck.

This might be an issue using left over soil, maybe get some nice new soil with perlite and vermalite and transplant. That's probably what I would do.

Are they strong enough for a transplant?
Oh yea. They are small so there aren't any substantial roots, just be super careful and you be all set. Sometimes when you transplant they will droop over so just prop them up with lightly packed soil and water and they'll be fine after a day or 2, just happened to me.

That is very small for 17 days, even under that small amount of light.

watering problem perhaps, maybe lighting arrangement.

Invest in a HID, you wont regret it. (if you have the space)

Best of luck

I figured it was very small. I've been looking at every micro grow I see. And I'm very far behind. I water every other day. And it is very much needed. I mist the leaves before I go to bed. And water in the AM.

Also- what about my temps? It's in a attic, so temps range from 82 during the day, to 66 at night. Maybe the cold to heat is a factor?

Updated what I could tonight after work;

I extended the intake, put it where fresh air from outside comes into the attic. Before it was just sucking up stagnent air.

Moved some things around, I read that CFL's give off the most light from the sides.

I would take the reflective foil off the tops of your pots (the ones you cut holes in so the plant can peep through) I would think this would prevent light from getting to the lower parts of the stem where the plant needs the light so it can establish strong roots.

Yes I agree, first thing I did this morning when I noticed how wet the soil still was.

Will post pics when I get home later. But I transplanted my little guys and started a mild fertilizer watering.

Sensi's right - your bulbs are 23w each. Forget the 'equivalent' value.

I hate 'invest in HPS' comments in the CFL subforum, but the logic is sound - get more lights.
