Hashberry Grow

Tell them you got a kegerator or your a welder, it doesn't matter what you tell him really as long as it's not the truth. You'll want to get co2 not the beer mix. The regulator is the expensive part 145.00 on ebay LINK(it's the one I bought) You can do it with out the regulator but you won't get the full benefit of the co2.

Mclovin i'm glad i caught this journal. the nats: i had them too...mix one part peroxide with 10 parts water and completely water the soil...it doesn't hurt the pH either...this kills the eggs and drowns the nats. then i'd say leave some sand on the top, they won't want to come back after that.

and for the 36 hours thing, i bet it would work wonderfully. flowering is induced when there is a MINIMUM length of darkness. (it's not determined by the amount of light, rather the amount of darkness.) so when you give it the 36 hours this is more time for it to prepare the flowering hormone florigen. so it would understand that it NEEDS to flower.

i'm scribing this grow...some sexy plants:joint::joint::joint:

Thanks Cheef I'll have to give that a try if the stuff I used today doesn't do the trick.

I turned the light in in the flower room yesterday at 3pm so they where in darkness for about 40 hours.

I took some more photos but after I cut the light on so you can't tell anything. I didn't see any size difference or new growth really, I'd say the plants in the veg room grew more but that's not the point of it anyway.

I was going to transplant them today but decided to wait so I can kill these gnats off before I give them more room to grow. I put some organic pesticide on them today, watered & sprayed the foliage. I'm sure all this has stunted their growth, I think the clones will probably grow quicker than this batch. It said I could mix it with my nutes so I gave both rooms 1/2 strength feedings. Veg room got grow big, big bloom & superthrive. Flower room got tiger bloom, big bloom & superthrive. I pH ed both to 6.3.

Room temps got a little high yesterday after I cut on my 600 watt hps. I was gone from 3:30 until almost midnight. When I got home my temp about 93 in my room. My clones were dry and looked a little wilted. I sprayed them and added water to the tray. This morning they looked a lot better.bongsmilie

Today I setup a odor control/light cooler. I don't know how much this will help odor but I'm going to give it a shot. I'll let you know if it did when ever they start to stink. It has dropped the temperature down to 88. I'm going to add a 2nd cheap fan by putting a y right behind the hood. I might just bite the bullet & buy an in line fan. With the 2 cheap ones it would be 500 cfm, the in line is only 440 cfm. Of course it's only one fan. Oh decisions. Any way on with the design.

I put 2 filters in this thing in hopes of controlling odor. I saw both of them on here so they are nothing new.
Filter 1 is for the intake side so I don't suck any thing across my light.
I used a 6" connector for stove pipe & I also used a 6" cap. I used some 1/4" square wire that can in a 2ftx5ft role.

I measured the wire so that it would be the same size as the filter. I screwed the wire to the open connector first, using medal screws. By attaching it in the middle first I was able to line it up a little easier. After I got it screwed all the way around I attached the cap to the other side. I put a thin filter inside and held it in place by using a small roll of wire. The filter on the outside is fuzzy & thicker. I attached it using big zip ties.

Filter #2 is on the exhaust side & it's more for the smell. I used a 6" piece of stove pipe & more the same wire. I screwed it down on 4 sides then cut the corners in 2 places. This allowed me to wrap the wire & screw it down instead of cutting it off. The I put activated carbon into some Woolite wash bag and stuffed it inside the pipe. I only filled the bag about an 1/8 of the way full. I secured it in place by using some fence ties I had laying around.

I connected everything together using 6" flexible hose & 6" clamps. I hung rope from the ceiling on the intake side to support the extra hose. On the exhaust side I hung a shelf. I put the intake close to the floor the help circulate my co2 since it's heaver than air. I put the exhaust above my plants.

If adding another fan does drop the temps down to 85 I'll pipe in some central air.

Oh I broke the top off #1 hanging stuff so I moved the little ladies before I did anymore damage.

Man didn't' realize it'd be so long. (that's what she said:blsmoke:)

soon you will have enough bud porn to get me so excited i need a keyboard guard and a box of kleenex. That hashberry will be a fine producer.

I have been pretty impressed by it so far & the pics Jason took of his hasberry makes me believe I made the right choice growing it first.

Hey Mclovin420 if you still have the gnat problem try this:
In a spray bottle put one cap of warmed up neem oil and 2 drops dish soap (not anti-bacterial) then I fill bottle with warm water. The warm water helps the neem to mix better I believe. Then spray top and bottom of leaves, and your grow medium surface. This has always done the job for me when the gnats start flying. Good luck on your grow and good choice on the Hashberry. I have been growing HB for almost 2 years and it has been one of the best strains I have had.

Thanks for the tip tman, I'll try it out on sunday if they are still around. I put a cup of wine with a couple of drops of liquid soap mixed in into the room today. I heard this will attract the gnats & trap them.

OB I'm using some in line ventilation fans I got at home depot. The 6" was $25 & the 8" was $30. They work pretty good but I'll be buying one of these for the exhaust before to long.

I redid my rooms ventilation today. I've always thought that by adding co2 I could just skip ventilation. Well the temps are just 2 high in the hot evenings so I'm added some ventilation & put the intake & exhaust sides for the light cooling out of the room.

Here's some pics

I may have killed my clones, I got a little drunk yesterday & passed out for a few hours & for got 2 out the top back over them after I changed the water. I'll more than likely just throw them out tomorrow & start fresh. At this point I've got my choice for a mother narrowed to 1 of 3 plants anyway so I'll just take 2 clones from the 3.

I think I've got 3 males in my flower room so far. I kind of figure 2 of them where because of their growth rate(that's why I went ahead & flowered them) but I was hoping for at least 2 females in there. I hope I have better luck with the rest of them. I've heard high temps will cause more males but I have never experienced it maybe the other 4 will be mostly female.:blsmoke:

Oh & happy 4th of July

nice photo, hope your fourth was as good as the night you passed out! lol.

Very nice set up, i envy your exhaust, bad news bout the ratio, i had very low temps in the first 4 weeks and i got 8 out of 11 females so it could be true. I carefully selected the best seeds from my year of smoking. I considered that lucky, but your breaking a little under 50%... that stinks, i may only order feminized for that reason.

My last couple of grow I've got 60% to 70% female, I guess some times it goes the other way. I've always heard superthrive will produce more female & this time I didn't give them any until their first nute shot. I don't know if that's the reason or not but I'm watering my seeds with a superthrive mix from now on.

I got the outside of my room finished yesterday. It turned out better than I thought it would.

I've still got a gnat problem & it's starting to show on my plants at least that's what I think. I've been feeding them every other watering with Fox Farm nutes.

I watered them with a mix of 2 tsp of hydrogen peroxide to 1 gallon of water. I watered until the overflow was filled about half way up. I'm going to let it sit like that for a couple of hours then I'll dump it out. I noticed a few gnats floating immediately, I don't know if they were already dead but they are now. I also mixed up a bottle of neem oil & liquid soap which I sprayed on the leaves, sand, pots & desk top. I'm going to kill the gnats or the plants one. Thanks for all the tips guys.

I took more clones from #'s 2,3,6 &7 since I killed the others. I also tied them down a little more. They are 5 weeks old this weekend. I'll be putting them into flower next weekend. If I kill my clones again I guess I'll just have to reveg one of them. Here's a few pics

#2 So far I like this one for my mother

I don't want to jinks myself but I haven't seen a gnat all afternoon. I may put them into flower on Wednesday if I don't see anymore gnats. I may keep one in the veg room just in case I kill my clones again. I can't but help be a little impatient here, I'm going to start some of Sagarmatha's Matanuska Tundra soon after the hashberry hits the flower room. I'm going to keep one mother & make a few seeds so I can keep some hashberry. I've also got some northern lights #9 & satori to grow man I may start 3 each the next time so I have some of each sooner rather than later.

(All this comes from the Doc)
Sagarmatha Matanuska Tundra

Mostly Indica. This variety brings back that majestic legendary marijuana from the great Alaskan Northland. Highly recommended by the best fishing and hiking guides in the Matanuska Valley. The buds are huge and rock-hard as Denali "Mt. McKinley" herself. Intense aroma, chocolate flavor and potency have combined to form the most dense variety we have had the pleasure of producing thus far. A glacier of THC crystals frosts her colas and she packs more power than an icepack polar bear. Medical patients have mentioned that she is very beneficial for persons with pain ailments. The "creeper" quality of the smoke comes on slow and smooth, like a hike up a majestic mountain peak. Enjoy the view, with a smile on your face and a gleam in your bloodshot eyes. Persons prone to altitude sickness should use caution.
  • Type: Indica, indoor and outdoor
  • Vegetate until: 4 - 7 internodes
  • Flowering time: 60-70 days
  • Average height: 0.5 - 0.75 meter
  • Yield: 350 - 375 grams / m² (dried, indoor)
  • High: powerfully sedative.
  • Smell: rich chocolate flavor
Sagarmatha Northern Light#9
After years of heartfelt requests for a Northern Lights strain, Sagarmatha has engineered a superior version of the NL legend. The flowering time is acceptable and fat chunky nugs can be expected.
Strain: Northern Lights #9
Breeder: Sagarmatha Seeds
Origin: Holland
Indoor / Outdoor / GH
Flowering: 50-55 days

Mandala Satori
Inspiration and moments of enlightenment flash up in this mind-expanding marijuana variety. Satori is not difficult to grow and she has shown impressive hardiness against spider mites and posesses a good measure of mold resistance. Her mostly slim appearance make it possible to plant in narrow rows to maximize yield and the firm sideshoots provide strong cuttings. Like all our varieties she is also quite resilient against heat - an added bonus for small indoor environments. With sufficient light and warmth in a greenhouse or in hydroponics, record yields of up to 600gr/m2 can be achieved. Her mainly sweet and spicy aroma is a special treat for the senses. This variety is a favourite of our breeders - and they must really know what counts!

Type: sativa-indica
Cultivation: indoor/outdoor
Flowering time: 65-72 days/October
Yield: 550-600 gr/m2 (dry weight)
High: a clear, cerebral high and strong potency supports your mental concentration and creativity if required; expansive feeling at sides of the head; inspiring; stimulating.
Medical Use: Satori shows her therapeutic potential in relieving depression and anxiety.

What do you guys think grow one or a few of all for the next batch of seeds?
