Has anyone tried Jungle Growth potting soil?

I have no hydro store to go to. I have to make due with home improvement stores. I don't want to use miracle grow soil but there aren't many others to choose from.

Lowes has Jungle Growth potting soil

Premium planting mix formulated for bigger and better blooms and vegetables with low pH and high phosporus
A complete and ready to use blend of composted aged forest products, Canadian sphagnum peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, charcoal, lime and fertilizer

Has anyone tried this stuff that can give me an opinion? I'd really appreciate hearing if it's any good or not.

Thanks

hey the soil you have sounds fine - its obviously a mixture that could easily be added to some normal soil (normal soil being some top soil from your garden or yard that you can then sterilize yourself) as to save some costs.

to be honest with you though I have not tried it although I can't see it not working.

Ive tried that and hated it, lots of stick, rocks, and bugs. That was the first soil i used and have been much happier making my own(peat, perlite, mushroom compost)

That'll work..I'm using tropical soil now and it works well... You wrote that it has nutes and is high in P..just make sure that your nutes you add don't get you too high on any one nute.. It does sound already adjusted for flower..so you may need to add N without any P.. check the numbers on the bag.....
Just a thought....

Thanks Twisty  What brand are you using?

I haven't actually bought it yet, I wanted an opinion check first.

The nutes already being added bothers me, I don't like that, but the soil I have now is nute free, but it's shitty.

Ive kinda wondered bout this jungle shit too..same situation, no local hydro stores. I got a place that sells FF an pro-mix like 2 hrs away, might go that route. IMO id try some bagseed in the jungle growth just to see how they react. Better than killing 100$ seeds n such :?

I'm thinking about mixing some jungle growth with some plain potting soil for a few plants and using just the jungle growth on a few to compare.

I've used this same plain soil for years for my houseplants and they're fine, but my weed plants just don't seem as happy in it.

Silverhaze, do you have a Menards? I wonder what they have, they need to jump into this century have have online browsing/shopping available. I found the jungle growth at the lowes website, Home Depot seems to only have Miracle grow soil, and I know I don't want that.

No menards. Ive seen people on here with amazing results using MG moisture control but I've never been able to use it.
MaryJaneDoe for Ex. Shes been growing 20 sumtin years n she doesnt PH, an she uses MGMC. Her plants are the shit
check em out. Ive tried though..Whenever i do that they always get some wack ass PH problem or they get a weird def
because of some nute lockout. I just cant grow in MG..Anything :}

I wonder what she does differently? I just don't want to use MG because I read so many threads where people using itare having problems. I suppose Jungle growth it'll be unless I stumble across something I like better.
